Highly recommend for those who on the way to the border or from the border!!!
Today we went to meet a friend in Surrey and we visit Nhà Tôi Cafe. My husband ordered Pho Satay, I order fried rolls and fresh spring rolls, and my 2 boys had Fried Pork Chop Rice.
All food were so tasty and fresh.
Even the dipping sauce for spring roll is also freshly made everyday. It tastes totally different and much better than any dipping sauce I tasted in Vancouver. It tastes really authentic Vietnamese. Just like the sauce you can find in a street food stand in Vietnam. I even bought a jar of that sauce home :)
Pho Satay was so delicicous and rich and flavourful.
The fried spring rolls were a spot light. They were scrispy and yummy :) no need to dip in any sauce because the seasoning in the fried rolls was just right and enough to make you mouth-wartering :) I think next time I will buy the fried spring rolls to bring along as snack on my trip back home.
I can tell that the rice with BBQ Pork Chop was tasty too because my 2 boys finished their dishes quickly!
We did enjoy the food.
Ah, the menu & environment are also nicely designed. I bet the owner has a good taste of design.
We were the last guests at that time but they served us very nice, no rushing.
We were too much focus on eating and forgot to take photo :)) just remember to take the photo of the boba tea and the sauce jar :))
Boba tea...

This is what we tried from Nha Toi in a week: 4 Large bowls of Beef Pho, 1 bowl of Satay Pho, 1 bowl of Veggie noodle soup, 1 bowl of Vegan Vermicilli bowl, 1 plate of Crispy Nah Toi Spring rolls with shrimp paste and seasoned minced pork with veggies
From what I know and have tasted, there are two major style of Pho in Vietnam: Northern Pho (Bac/Hanoi Pho) vs Southern Pho (Nam/Saigon Pho).
Broth is made with 2days of simmered marrow beef bone with other herbs. Its cloudier and a bit sweeter than Northern style, BUT man... it IS SO SAVORY AND UMAMI just lingers in your mouth and stays in your brain and palate for hours. (Only other broth I can relate this to is Kal Bi Tang boiled and simmered for days). Noodle is def'ly thinner but more fluffier and softer to chew than dry noodle. Freshness of sliced raw beef and Brisket was better than other Pho places I have tried (no over powering beefy taste sometimes comes from chilled meat)
Freshness of ingridents are absolute best!!!!!
BTW, Nha Toi also serves Truedan bubble tea...
Read moreFirst impression was positive as the store had cute interior and a bright space which made it very welcoming. Pretty much empty when we walked in on a weekday afternoon for lunch.
Menu prices were high compared to local pho spots and unfortunately doesn’t live up to my expectations. Nothing special with the broth and although it tasted “good” by itself, the thick rice noodle they use softened the taste and made it very bland with each bite. Rice noodles were both thick and soft, not chewy as I would like, but maybe an off day.
Basil was not fresh and no red chilli or limes/lemons provided, so might have to ask. There was also no mention of their current Christmas promotion for spending over $25 despite someone before us walking out with a prize.
If you’ve never tried pho or Vietnamese cuisine before, this seems like a safe spot to start. However, pricing and quality could be improved to retain current and attract future customers. For now I’ll stick to more traditional spots with more...
