I used to go to Noodlebox for lunch and dinner regularly downtown ten years ago so I was thrilled when more locations opened up over the years. This was my first time ordering meals from this location. I’m now wondering if anyone working here has ever eaten at OTHER locations. I tried to use the app to collect points but didn’t know when to scan the barcode and was then informed it was too late since I had already paid. I asked if they could just refund it and recharge me so I could get the points but unfortunately that was impossible since the manager only has the ability to issue a refund. Okay so could the manager please do that? No, the manager wasn’t in. When is the manager expected in? “There’s no way to know.” Because apparently the manager doesn’t adhere to a fixed schedule? That seems really sketchy and ill advised. Why are employees on site being expected to work with zero support from management and without any idea when a manager will be available? The staff were very polite and respectful, they deserve better support. When we got the order home and tried it, both of us were astounded. This tastes like a completely different product, and not in a good way. We’re boring and stick with the same order every time. Blindfolded I could not have identified any of this as what we’ve always ordered from Noodlebox. It was disappointing. I will not order from or recommend this location...
Read moreWhat a shame. I've loved Noodle Box for a long, long time. I remember when they were just a single store operator out of Victoria way back in the day. Since then they've expanded (and rightfully so). This location however, just unfortunately isn't worth the price. I've ordered here a few times over the past month, on SKIP and also twice in person. All 3 times, the amount of protein and vegetables you get in your rice or noodle boxes just isn't worth the price. When you pay an extra $3.85 for chicken or $4.95 for beef you expect there to be more than an ounce of protein in your box (especially when you paid $11 + for the box in the first place and protein is extra). Look the quality of the actual food is still good here, the owner is almost always present and the staff try to give good service. However when you're getting less than an ounce of protein and less than an ounce of veggies and your box is almost entirely noodles or rice it's just not worth the price. Hate to see it when concepts grow up and become more like chains, they skimp and cut on every possible aspect of the food to the point where what you get today doesn't even resemble a glimpse of what was served 10 years to go. Just...
Read moreFYI - to other customers beware if you are ordering close to their store closing time.
I ordered from this location off Uber eats with a couple friends last Saturday. We unfortunately did not realize we ordered very close to their closing time. We all got medium hot noodlebowls x2 each. Not one of us could eat even half of one as they intentionally sabotaged our meals for placing a last minute order. The amount of chili flakes they used was absurd and made it absolutely unbearable to eat. I was sick the following day because of it and threw away my leftovers along with my other untouched bowl. I understand the frustration for a last minute order, but you’re taking it out on unknowing customers. Speak with Uber and your management to find an appropriate time that is fair for staff to stop receiving orders. That way it won’t jeopardize the time it takes employees to close down the store for the night, as I know this is why they lashed out at us. I’ve shopped at this location for a while now because I like them better than wok box, but I’m not going to roll the dice with a store that is going to take their frustrations out on unsuspecting paying customers. Wok bok it...
