My company provided them with our credit card number, as they have in the past, but when I checked in I was asked for a second credit card. When I pointed out that they were given a credit card number and why we hadn't had this problem in the past, Prabh advised that he hadn't checked me in in the past. I asked to speak with a manager, he told me his is the manager, I asked to speak with the owner, he said he is the owner. When I questioned that, he said that when he's on shift he's the owner, as everything is his responsibility. When I asked why he needed a second credit card, he said that I might break something. Why would I have a party this time, but never in the past? I told him that they should have told us when we booked if the policy had changed, he said he's going by the book. He finally checked me in, I get to the room, turn on the water in the kitchenette (which is older than I am)...nothing, the cold water doesn't turn on, I hang my head in despair, only to see a hole in the carpet the size of a deck of cards. I turn to put my backpack on the chair, the arms look like a dog chewed them. I opened the blinds and saw that 4 or the slats in the air conditioner below are broken. What the heck did he think I was going to break?! Everything was already broken!!!! I called the front desk and told him about the water, he said he'd send someone up. A couple of minutes later, Prabh is at the door. While he's fixing the water, I take the opportunity to point out the deficiencies in the room so that they can't blame me for breaking them, and I ask him what I could have broken in there, as everything is already busted! Will NEVER stay here again. Last time I stayed there it was for 2 or 3 nights of work, the hotel was in full renovation mode, which I didn't know before booking. I asked to be put in a quiet room, as I am sensitive to noise, they put me right next to the elevator on the same floor as a group of guys who kept yelling down the hall to each other. I asked to be moved, which they did. I thought I was in the clear until I was woken up first by the people above me simply moving around, and after finally falling back to sleep, the construction crew showed up before 7am and started working in the hall outside my room, yelling back and forth to each other, and just as I thought they were done and I could get some rest, someone started vacuuming right outside the door, not even 8am!!! Not sure what I was thinking giving them another chance after that, but the joke is clearly on me. WON'T be...
Read moreThe only reason I gave this review a 2 start was because the room was clean and for the most part renovated. The tub was terrible did not drain properly. The beds were okay to sleep on but very squeaky. Also the TV was very old and actually had a line going across it while on. We really just turned it on to a kids show for my grandson because it was not really watchable. The downfall of this hotel is they have swimming lessons in the pool. We booked this hotel because of the pool and hot tub. We wanted to enjoy it with my Grandson. We were there 2 nights and went swimming at different times and both times they had lessons 2 of the classes had 6 kids. We were told we could use the area of the pool where they were not. I was shocked and advised the lady that we are paying customers at the hotel. She advised you can still use some of the pool. No where on their site to they indicate that swim lessons are done at this pool. I am surprised the Best Western Franchise allows this with out advertising it. We did talk about this on check out not sure if it was the manager. We advised him that this should be advertised on their site and that we had seen other reviews where guests were told they could not go in the pool. He pretty much told us those were lies. He then went on to say due to COVID they had to find other means to keep the hotel running. He did take $20 off a night for us but the room was still $149 plus tax a night. He said you will probably still give me a bad review. I advised no what we will do is provide a suggestion in our review. I was going to give a 3 star but while waiting at the airport we looked up the reviews again and the swimming lesson comments actually went as far back as 2015! So the story about having to add this because of COVID was not truthful. I am all for kids having swimming lessons but Best Western this hotel not advertising this and charging what they do is very poor customer service. Best Western is my go to hotel. I will not stay at this hotel again. I know the response we will get for this review from management will just be we will take this under review. When I read the reviews more closely the ones with swimming lesson comments they have said that for years but they still happen. Likely the reason it is not advertised is because they will have fewer people stay at the hotel. They do allow pets which is awesome but they don't do anything about how much dogs are barking during their stay and it's a lot. Disappointing stay at this...
