Smitty's Family Restaurant - Swift Current — Restaurant in Swift Current

Smitty's had consistently good service in their old location but the new location has been a disappointment every time we've gone for breakfast in the morning. The food has been good but the servers have been disinterested, absent, and rude.

When they first opened, our server was obviously sick (constant sniffling and coughing) which was disgusting. We were accidently seated in a "regulars" table and asked to move. We were reseated in another "regulars" table asked to move once again by a different server which we did without complaint.

Another time, there were only two tables filled but no one came around to give us the bill. We waited over 15 minutes for a server to come past, then decided to walk up to the front hoping someone would see us. The server suddenly appeared and accused us of trying to walk out without paying.

Our most recent experience was just as disappointing. We ordered coffee but the server forgot to bring mugs when she brought the coffee pot. We asked for mugs and she said she would be right back. After waiting 15 minutes, no server had been in our section so we walked over to another table that had clean mugs and used them. Our food finally came but they forgot to bring syrup. Again, no server came to check how the first few bites were and we didn't see a server for over 15 minutes so we ate our breakfast without syrup.

Every time we've gone, the servers haven't been friendly or inviting and the service has been poor. We have tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and been polite, but we will not be going back. I would not recommend anyone go to Smitty's in...

Waitress today lacked welcoming vibes. It was so bad we walked out. When we walked in, she was nowhere to be seen for quite some time. Once she came out she gave off the vibes that she didn't want to be there, looked at her watch, no smile, no greeting, annoyingly grabbed us menus, then quickly walked us to a booth where she dropped the menus pretty dramatically, walked away without eye contact or even waiting for us catch up to her and sit at the booth. No, "Can I get you something to drink?", "I will be with you shortly" or "apologies for the delay." Nothing. We waited for a bit in our booth, but she never came back to order drinks for quite some time... again. It was 3pm, and there were only 3 other tables - I can't even justify the attitude being caused by it being busy. We walked out and went elsewhere before that kind of attitude and ghosting could ruin our 'Lupper'...

When you walk in it feels like you’re in highschool all over again. The hostess around 1pm Nov 5 was rude to say the least when she found out we were a party of 6. The waiter was missing for 20 mins, people that came in after us were getting service and their food before us. My son has autism and I could see the waitresses huddle in the back corner and laugh and stare. Coffee was mia for at least almost half a hour till some one came out to work but the coffee pot was DIRTY. Fish was over cooked, dry and hard, while fries were fried in old oil and masked with way too much seasoning. Will not recommend or return...
