At 3:05 pm on Saturday Sept 11th my family arrived thinking the restaurant looked cute and the reviews for the place were good. Unfortunately we were greeted by an unfriendly host that promptly informed us the patio was full but that we did have the option to do take out. So we took the menu and looked at it outside and decided to go for the take out. We called the number on the front to place an order and a young man answered. He then informed me that the kitchen was “uh closed” and I told Him I was outside the restaurant and had just been told take out was an option due to the full patio where I could see people in plain sight being served fresh food and drinks. He then re emphasized that “the kitchen is closed at this time”. Very disappointing service. From everything I can tell He was lying and just didnt want to cook any more because im assuming they felt like they were busy enough. In any case it was awful service to tell us that take out is an option and then 5 minutes later flat out refuse us service. Too bad because we come here often and were looking forward to trying this place out. If an owner or manager is reading this review maybe have a chat with your staff regarding how to...
Read moreInitial impressions were good for breakfast, while we were awaiting the ferry. We received a prompt and friendly welcome, were seated quickly and the server was at the table shortly after seating with coffee and water. My spouse ordered a BLT and I had the western omelet. Food was satisfactory, although not great. Some examples of this: the BLT did not have mayonnaise, nor was any offered - though when asked, they did provide some miracle whip packages. The western did not have peppers and the cheese was of the processed variety, rather than a good quality cheddar or Swiss. A little pricey as well for the level of ingredients used. Basic toast & home fries, and unexceptional coffee. Server disappeared shortly after the food was delivered so needless to say, coffee refills were non-existent. Overall impression? The proprietors have a captive market with the ferry crowd, and are the only spot within short walking distance of the dock. Where other operators might seize the opportunity to provide a top-notch experience, they have instead chosen to offer basic food and basic service, but for higher level prices. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't rush...
Read moreThe service was terrible. We tried to eat there twice, thinking the first night perhaps there was an issue with the kitchen or server so we gave them another chance. First time we ate there no one came to check on us to see if the food was okay or if we required anything (which we did) we called out to the waiter three times and he did not hear us. When he finally paid attention I told him, in a joking manner, that we were trying to get his attention for a long time and called him multiple times- he did not apologize or even seem to understand what we were saying.
The next morning we came here for breakfast- the cook brought us our food and when we asked if he put cheese in the omelette he said, "I can't remember, you'll have to look"... And they forgot our fruit. AGAIN no one came to see if we needed anything (we wanted more coffee). The food was gross, the cheese was processed in the omelette
We would never recommend this...
