Normally I don’t like to leave reviews. But this restaurant deserves special mention. I discovered the place yesterday and already I have been 3 times.
First of all, what does best mean? Best means a record or level that surpasses all others.
So Why is this place the best in Thunder Bay?
Reasons:
#1) They serve real food #2) They charge real good prices #3) They cook the meat to correct temperature #4) They cook the meat to correct doneness #5) They have friendly service #6) They provide authentic flavours #7) They have authentic ambience
Why people go to Pita Land, Pita Pit or any other shawarma place is a baffling fiasco. Their meats are so bland, not cooked to crispy perfection and portions are sad. Their salads may be the star of the dish but never their meats.
At Best Bite shawarma the meat is so crispy and juicy that you don’t even need salad or sauce. In fact, next time I’m going to have it without Tzatziki and veggies.
I was blown away by their culinary expertise. First of all, they use real potatoes with skin on and cook it like they serve it in France; freshly cut thin and perfectly crispy. These fries are Bistro style believe it or not! For a medium the portion was huge and for the price even more unbelievable.
Second of all, they sell donair wraps! The last time I had a donair kabob was in Turkey. It is very rare to find places that serve donair. The prices are unbelievable and Thunder Bay is lucky to have this hidden gem that is family owned by a very cute French looking couple.
The lady that serves you has a smile that will light up your whole week.
The gentleman even said their burgers are freshly made non - frozen patties which had me floored! I’ll be back as soon as they’re open on Monday.
I had their beef shawarma first which was so good that I naturally opted for their beef donair the next day. Actually, the owner said their chicken shawarma is their star dish so imagine how it must taste if their beef was that good.
Are they the best in Thunder Bay or are they the best in all of Ontario, maybe even in Canada? Yes, they are!
To be best you have to beat others in terms of flavour, price and most importantly cooking the meat right and that they have done which is why they are aptly called Best...
Read moreI do skip the dishes for this restaurant some times and its flavour all beat out my nose. The food smell remind me about my wife’s cooking. So good. Tony is an old man and he’s the only one run this restaurant. Actually, this is not a dine-in one and it’s much more a grocery shop. I must tell this because many people complained about Tony and his restaurant. Tony is from Lebanon and he is old. I repeat this to let people know that if you want to enjoy Best bite shawarma, accept the culture. Of course this culture could annoy you. LoL. You should NOT require a western service from an Asian restaurant run by only one elderly. Enjoy its culture. Most people coming here behaved like neighbours. Food is good but the price is rather high for me. LoL. Everything has it price. LoL. Shawarma also has a lot of foods, spices ... from Lebanon or western asia. Come to talk and enjoy Tony’s food and his culture. You may not like,...
Read moreI had a bad experience. Fist of all, the food was tasteless and pricy. Secondly, customer service was disgusting, there was a line and the old man (owner) was flirting wasting time with girls of almost his grand daughter's age, while his own daughter was standing right behind him. They have a dine-in but no washrooms for customers, that's disgusting. All dine-in restaurants must have a washroom or two for customers. Will never go to this place again.
That's not true Mr. There were at least 10 people eating on two different tables. You don't keep tables with chairs for customers waiting for their take out order. I have pics to prove that. Most of my friends had similar experience here and they will never go back again. Pita Pit is much better than this place. The comment below is from one of his family member who probably got a free meal in exchange...
