Take a double double pizza, let it cool down, then pop it back in your home oven at 350 for half an hour. Trust me, youâll save yourself the criminal prices they charge and end up with an equally low quality product.
Iâm not exactly sure what people love about this place other than the fact itâs local. Now donât get me wrong, this review doesnât come from one bad experience. I gave them their due chance. Iâve tried regular pizzas, custom pizzas, specialty pizzas, calzones, desserts, the works! But it sucks. The crust is tasteless, tough, and dry. Itâs like thereâs no âcookedâ. Itâs only ever floppy chewy and tasteless, or dry overcooked and tasteless.
The toppings? Donât even get me started. This is the biggest travesty. How exactly do you get top quality local ingredients, put them together into what should be the crown jewel of pizzas, and still come out something with quality subpar to that of even Double Double. Even that is too much credit, think 2-4-1 pizza at 2am. How do they make their pizzas so dry. Seriously how?? Do they mop the grease up on the way out of the oven? Do they cut their cheese with Oil-Dry?? Thatâs not even mentioning how sparse the toppings are, especially the premium ingredients.
In all seriousness though this place needs to get better. If youâre the owner reading this I donât want to be comped, I donât want free food or your money. I want better pizza. Take some pride and improve your crust. Bump up those ingredients by a few grams. And for $30 for a pizza I really hope your staff are well paid. Thunder Bay pizza is terrible in general but I would expect âeat localâ to be better. Itâs...
Read moreWhat ever happened to customer service? Ordered 2 salads and 2 pizzas through skip (first mistake i suppose). Driver delivered 2 pizzas, no salads. Confirmed with driver that was all he was given.
Called Eat Local, first guy i spoke with owned the mistake, said it was busy, and the salads got missed. No problem, I'm a 5-minute drive away, drop them off and we're all good. Guy says that his manager wouldn't allow it because I ordered through skip. I would have to complain through the skip platform.
Spoke with the manager, said all I want is the salads that I ordered, the same ones that you forgot to give to the delivery driver. Manager refused. It apparently violates their policy to correct their mistakes if orders are placed through skip. I was told if I had ordered delivery directly from them (didn't know they had in-house delivery, thought that's why they were on skip), they would have sent my salads over, no problem.
I've learned that their skip customers don't deserve the same customer service or satisfaction. I've learned that whatever policy they stand behind is more important to them than ensuring they get things right with their customers.
I submitted my complaint to skip and received "skip credits". Didn't want them, just wanted the salad I ordered.
That was the last time I will order from them, and I will be sharing my experience with everyone I know...
Read moreJust bought the sunday deal for two pizzas. The lady i spoke too on the phone came across incredibly passive. For someone whos worked in customer service for 7 years, I can assure you her way of service is definitely not a great way to be representing your location. When I just came in to pick up my pizza, same type of service from her (girl with red hair). She left the pizza boxes infront of her without even passing then over, and didnât say anything. Nothing. No goodbye or have a nice day. She said absolutely nothing. She has the personality of a bag of hammers. Maybe worse. I do come here often as i love supporting local. I have never seen her before but I probably wonât be back.
Update... itâs been months later and still havenât been back. Horrible when owners/management fail to make an effort at making...
