Giorg Cucina e Barra — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

My fiance and I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Giorg, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting.

All of the crew was unreal, from the hostess, to the manager, Marie, and the folks in the kitchen! Our server was Trevor, he is exceptional - attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. He went above and beyond to ensure our evening was special, which he always does (we have had Trevor as our server at another local gem of a restaurant, Bight, multiple times)

The food!! Every single dish we ordered was nothing short of amazing! The flavors were rich and authentic, the portions were generous, and the presentation was beautiful.

I'm not often blown away by a dining experience, but Giorg truly exceeded our expectations in every way. A new favourite of ours.

Update: Went in July and was hoping for a repeat experience, but it would appear this place is going downhill. The food coming out of the kitchen was just meh. My pasta dish was so bland and appeared to be made for a small child. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she was visibly annoyed. Her solution (without asking or telling me), was to have it re-made, larger! "I didn't like the slop." "Sorry about that, here's a large slop, to make up for it" Great, more slop. Wife's meal was also quite tasteless. Pretty sad tbh. Paid over 300 bucks for that mediocrity. I really doubt we will return.

A diamond...

Okay don't get me wrong the food is amazing and the best quality! But the second experience that I had here definitely didn't come close to the first time Staff were dropping forks on the ground, got elbow in the face and which whatever fine accidents happen....but the fact they added a tip to our bill without asking was kind of a slap in the face ( or an elbow which I got) I definitely do not think the server should have got a $50 tip on a $200 bill which the sloppy service... I don't think I would go back to this restaurant with the fact that we are forced to pay a tip when service was not great.. which makes me sad because the food it amazing. I can't justify paying for crappy service.

I definitely would...
