Went tonight (Friday) and was sat with Laurie. She didn’t greet us for 15-20 minutes, and even then it was so rushed, absolutely no attempt to make us happy or apologize for the wait.
Our drinks took a while, but for how busy it was that was expected. The drinks were correct and good, well priced.
Our food took about 30 minutes after we ordered, to which she didn’t check on us at all during then. Once my plate was put down I mentioned to her that I (of course apologize, but) asked for lettuce wrapped, not in a wrap. Clear misunderstanding, to which didn’t need any attitude I received. She returned a few minutes later with the contents of the wrap (a cut up veggie burger) on some lettuce. It looked awful, and clearly not what I asked for. I’m surprised the kitchen would even think to do that.
I politely told Laurie that it wasn’t what I asked for, I wanted a lettuce wrapped veggie burger, not cut up burger ingredients in between lettuce. Laurie immediately huffed and said “do you see how busy it is right now? With all your modifications (I asked for no dairy or mushrooms too) your kitchen doesn’t want to do that!” She went on, to which I ignored and politely asked for a lettuce wrapped burger. My party was grossly moved by the interaction, but we continued to be polite throughout the visit, which wasn’t met by Laurie.
It took about 10 minutes, and it came out perfect that time. We took our time eating and she didn’t visit us until we were done our plates. She didn’t even ask the rest of my party how their plates were.
When she came back she was clearly trying too hard to be nice and make it up (never actually acknowledged her rudeness) for a tip - too late. Service matters for the entire visit, not just the end. I’ve never not provided a tip, today we left with just 5% so she wouldn’t be stuck with the tip out.
I would have asked for the manager to discuss this matter, however, with how the kitchen reacted, and how Laurie spoke to me, I wanted out of there. I hope the manager reads this and takes this seriously. A customer should never be made uncomfortable by a rude waitress.
To note on the atmosphere: although there was lots of customers I was still able to hear my party of 4 no problem. We couldn’t hear the kitchen, despite being close to it. There was also kind-sounding servers near us. The location has the beautiful atmosphere any Montanas has, and this location was fairly clean.
TLDR: Server got my order wrong, provided a half-assed “solution”, was directly rude, did not check on us until the end shortly before our check. Nice...
Read moreMy family and I love going to Montana's, we've been for many years and have had very few complaints if any. Our last experience was the worst I've ever had. When we arrived, the hostess who sat us was amazing, she sat us promptly and made sure we had everything. Our server on the other hand was awful. The was 5 of us, my wife, myself, my wife's grandmother, my 6 year old and my 2 year old. Our server took our drink order and completely forgot or didn't care to ask for our 2 year olds drink order, after we got half of our drinks, we didn't see her again for the other half until about 10 minutes later. When she returned, my wife asked about a drink for my 2 year old and the server looked confused, rolled her eyes and went to get it. After that, we had to wait a bit to order (our fault) but when she did come to take our order she either forgot again or didn't care to ask for our 2 year olds order. We saw her maybe twice before our meal came and each time my wife tried to get her attention but she ignored us. After we got our meal, she showed up 5 minutes later to ask if we were okay, and then tried to basically run away before we could answer, my wife had to yell out to her to get her attention. My wife had said she thinks the server forgot our daughter's order, the server replied with "oh okay?" So we ordered for her and we got it half way through our meal. We saw her maybe once more after that to ask for dessert, once we got that, we just asked for the bill right away so we could get out of there.
My wife and I were extremely upset with the service we received and are honestly disappointed that our daughter was either forgotten about twice or the server simply didn't care to ask about her order. She may only be 2 but she at least deserves to eat and drink too.
I hope the next time we go the service is better as every other time was great. I'm thinking the server was simply having an off night as this location is usually great.
Better luck next...
Read moreTonight is Wednesday, which is all you can eat rib night at Montana’s. I was thoroughly disgusted. My husband and I sat down and when the waiter came over and talked to us about the food, he made the disclaimer that basically if we were to get the all you can eat Ribs and were caught sharing them we would be charged. Additionally, he made sure that he made comments about how we weren’t allowed to take any home. This was uncalled for.
My income is likely 7 to 10 times his and yet he made the assumption that we were only there to order the all you can eat ribs and that we were planning to cheat the restaurant.
As it was, we didn’t choose the all you can eat rib option and we ordered two additional sides to our meal. When he brought us the machine to pay our bill we gave him a 20% tip, which is what we give all servers, in every restaurant we attend.
Even though he Left the cash machine on our table for us to pay while he served Another table, He almost ran me over trying to get to the machine when I got up to leave after I paid. He ran over to ensure that I had actually paid the bill.
As someone who prides myself on being fair and who does not cheat others, I was very insulted.
It is not my intention to ever eat at Montana’s in...
