Wow!! I'm so glad I came here đâ
Visiting Newfoundland for the first time and on my first drive up the Avalon Peninsula, I saw the sign for Lorina's. I wasn't sure what kind of place it was, so I didn't make the stop. But the name stuck with me the rest of the day that on the next morning I learned that it was a local cafe.
Inside you are almost immediately greeted with tempting pastries and goodies. And then there's the enticing menu of homemade meals.
For breakfast I went with the classic breakfast sandwich on a croissant and a fishcake. I'm very picky about fishcakes so when I tell you the ones here are good, they're REALLY GOOD.
I also got to take home with me an "apple flip" which is like the lovechild of an apple turnover and a calzone, as well as a kind of chocolate filled strudel/chocolatine. Both were delicious!
I highly recommend this place and am definitely looking forward to returning whenever my next NL...

Also, it smelt so good when we walked in as the Apple Flips were just about to come out of the oven, so we got a few of those to go. Very delicious variety of homemade, traditional baking (cookies, squares, scones, etc) plus soups and sandwiches for a very reasonable price.
