We celebrated my baby boy’s 100 day at Casa Deluz with a total of 8 tables in their private room. Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the Manager - Maggie. She is a friendly and approachable person to make the arrangements. She was prompt with sharing the menus and explaining the dates available. The communication throughout the planning process was amazing and direct. She offered us a projector screen if we wanted a slideshow and also microphone and a robust sound system that you can sync your iPhone to for Bluetooth and stream music which I did with my play list. The menu was a standard menu with excellent prices. We opted to also have wine service which we bought our own fine red and white wines along with champagne. They provided the glassware and service. All white and champagnes were iced in a bucket and servers were prompt to offer refills. We also brought our own soft drinks which were set on each table along with refills. We had a banquet food set menu for $628. I highly recommend it as it presents great value and pleased the pallet of everyone including many of my multicultural/ethnicity friends. Best of all both my mother and mother in law said the taste and value was excellent. Our servers were prompt and professional. Always very gentle and asked us if we needed anything. They are trained well and uniformed, I must say they all looked very good. I couldn’t have asked any more. One last note, all the table settings were done in gold such as the table cloths and napkins. My wife and I were so impressed and didn’t expect it. The vibe was excellent, we had balloons and and the perfect backdrop to take photos. Guests were well served and we again are so thankful for Maggie and her great team including kitchen staff. We will plan our next event there. I highly recommend it based on how spectacular the evening went!

*This is strictly a wedding reception review* One of my closest friends did his wedding reception here. It was really great to see new and old friends. There was enough space between tables and the main stage was large enough to fit multiple ppl. I would say that the MC was great (Mr. Lee is not contracted by the resto but he was good!) They also have very well maintained speakers (this is not the case at a lot of venues - sometimes you hear crackling and static). The food was solid. I had another friend get married late June 2023 at Paradise Banquet Hall and he also had a chinese multi-course dinner. I think I would give that one the slight edge over Casa Deluz (although Casa Deluz DID have the better tasting suckling pig lol). I also appreciated the italian themed dessert bar at Paradise more than the traditional chinese dessert spread at this place. There was a hiccup at the start of the night because the guests at my table were swapped to multiple tables due to other guests not showing up at their tables. When we sat at our final destination, the servers didn't seem enthusiastic to change out the silverware, cutlery or linens on the table to our dismay. There was a group of elders sitting at the table beforehand and they had peeled a bunch of peanuts (the complimentary nuts), leaving the shells on the plates. They'd also drank from some of the wine glasses and tea cups as well as used some of the linens so we kindly asked some servers to help us reset the table but were met with much resistance. I've heard and read that dim sum is supposed to be good at this resto but I've never personally tried it. Honestly, with the great quality of dim sum I can get in markham or richmond hill I don't think I'd ever venture this far for it.

It's a solid choice for big banquet hall dim sum in Scarborough. Menu service (no push carts) and they serve big portions, but be prepared to wait for a table if you go on a weekend. The staff have always been very kind to us, sometimes it's our whole family for a holiday meal together, sometimes just me and Mom catching up over yum cha! The waitress also flagged to me that they automatically add a 12% tip to the bill — this is becoming a standard at many Chinese restaurants, otherwise they'd never get tips — so read the bill and don't over pay! We still added a personal tip for our lovely server, and the manager who came over to say help us with the menu and have a little chat. Food wise, it's good. I think perhaps they are trying to be "all things to all people" and end up not specializing in any particular area. Lunch menu items cover dimsum, chow mein, chow fun, congee and soups, seafood at high prices, and special event banquets. Oddly the wohtip pan-fried dumplings only come in batches of 12 instead of the standard 4! From past experiences, it can be a hit-or-miss when it's packed on weekends. We've had better luck going after the lunch rush at 1:30-2:30pm on weekdays. This time we ordered the stir-fried pork + beansprouts on crispy chow mein fried noodles, beef + cilantro cheung fun/rice flour rolls, pan-fried lotus/turnip cake, fried chicken wings and chrysanthemum tea. It was a hit! I love that they serve the chow mein noodles on top and to the side of the sauteed pork and beansprouts with gravy. This is good-forward thinking cooking to keep the noodles crispy and not all soggy when it arrives at the table.

Casa Deluz is a Chinese banquet hall restaurant which serves dim sum for brunch daily. It is located at the Woodside Square Mall in Scarborough. It faces McCowan Avenue with pedestrian friendly direct access to the inside mall. You can reserve ahead of time various size private rooms upon request. On Mondays to Fridays they have the early bird special. All small, medium, large size dim sum orders are $4.80 each for cash payments only. Plus there is a $2.20 tea charge per person. This deal excludes Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays and long weekends. Valid for dine in only. If you forget to bring cash, not to worry as there is a Bank of Montreal and TD Bank branch at this mall. It's right at Finch Avenue and McCowan Avenue, so it's accessible by TTC. There is also ample parking spaces on site for those who wish to drive. The restaurant is now serving at full capacity, but their employees continue to practice COVID-19 safety precautions by wearing face masks. They also provide a large bowl of hot water and a stainless steel tong at the very beginning, so their customers can sanitize their cutlery, plate and bowl at their own leisure. Each table has it's own hand sanitizer bottle. In overall, we had a pleasant dining experience and we enjoyed what we ordered. What's really cool? Is this eatery has 3 Food Trolley Robotics on Wheels that work along side with the restaurant servers / waiters. It's interesting to see how humans and robots work simultaneously to serve their customers.

Wish we could give this place 3.5 stars... Restaurant is nice, clean, and spacious. For the price, we expected a few things to be done better, but overall, was still good. Service was a bit off because although the restaurant was not busy, no one came to change our plates in between courses (which is typical in banquet-like restaurants). They didn't serve us (which is also typical for this type of style); just dropped the plates came back when it was time to pick them up (e.g. did not open the steamed fish and de-bone it). Food wise, some hit and misses: steamed fish was good, jellyfish was delicious, honey pork ribs were good, prawns were very yummy (and HUGE!). The poached chicken was not good (e.g. they put this slimy sauce on it that was bland and made the texture quite off-putting, so the sauce was unnecessary). Fish maw corn soup did not need the corn - fish maw alone with crab or something would have been better. Roast pork was good but did not stand out. Fried rice was bland and flavourless. Did not try the buddha dish so cannot comment on that. Surprisingly the prices are reasonable given the banquet-style cuisine, and the dishes were plated/cooked well, but the chefs need to reflect on how to elevate the flavour of their dishes.

We went on Family Day and expected a long wait even though we went relatively early in the day. (Note to you guys: if you come on busy days, don't wait at the desk for the hostess w/ the clipboard because she won't be there. You have to literally go into the restaurant and tell her how many are in your party to get your number for the queue.) We waited for an hour as was estimated by the hostess before we could get seated. Luckily during our wait, we already had our items all chosen on the menu so we could get our order in as soon as we sat down. Everything was super delicious and my favorite items were the Pineapple BBQ Pork Buns. They were stuffed very generously and even had pieces of pineapple inside! I was so excited. We also ordered the shrimp rice roll and the noodle for it was delicious and had the right amount of chewiness. I definitely want to go back again soon. Hopefully, my next off day isn't a holiday so it'll be less busy. Overall: Food: 10 out of 10 Staff: 9 out of 10 Décor/Atmosphere: 8 out of 10
