⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 – An Amazing Experience at Saravanaa Bhavan, Thanks to Deepika!
I recently visited Saravanaa Bhavan, and I have to say it turned out to be one of the most memorable dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. While the food itself was delicious – especially the dosa we ordered, which was perfectly crispy and flavorful, and the refreshing mojito that went along with it – what truly made the evening special was the service provided by Deepika, who took our order and looked after us throughout the visit.
From the very moment we sat down, Deepika greeted us with such warmth and a genuine smile that instantly made us feel welcome. She was patient, attentive, and carried herself with a level of professionalism that is rare to see. What stood out most was how effortlessly she balanced friendliness with efficiency – she knew the menu inside out, answered all our questions with confidence, and made great recommendations. It was clear that she truly cared about ensuring we had the best experience possible.
When our food arrived, she checked in on us with perfect timing – not too much, not too little – just enough to make sure everything was going smoothly. Little details like refilling water promptly, asking if we were enjoying the dishes, and noticing if we needed anything without us even having to ask really set the service apart. It’s those thoughtful gestures that elevate a simple meal into something extraordinary.
The dosa was crisp, light, and paired beautifully with the chutneys and sambar – honestly one of the best I’ve had. The mojito was refreshing, balanced, and exactly what we needed. But as good as the food was, it was Deepika’s hospitality that left the biggest impression on us. Her positive energy, politeness, and attentiveness turned a regular dinner into an experience worth remembering.
In today’s fast-paced world, good customer service often gets overlooked, but people like Deepika remind us of how important it is. She is truly an asset to Saravanaa Bhavan and deserves to be recognized for the incredible way she treats customers. Because of her, I would happily come back again and recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
To the management of Saravanaa Bhavan: You are very lucky to have an employee like Deepika on your team. Her hard work and genuine care for customers represent your brand in the best possible light.
Overall, I can’t thank Deepika enough for making our visit so enjoyable. If you ever visit Saravanaa Bhavan, I highly recommend not only trying their dosa and mojito but also looking out for Deepika – she will make sure your experience is as...
Read moreIf you're like me and enjoy walking into random restaurants serving cuisine you can't even pronounce—let alone identify—this place is your next adventure.
I've had Chicken Biryani before, but nothing—and I mean nothing—could have prepared me for the Mushroom Biryani here. It’s so spicy it could probably melt steel beams and still ask if you want it “medium or hot.” That said, it was delicious. The spice hits hard, but in a strangely comforting way—like a warm hug from a fire-breathing dragon.
Fun fact: spicy food triggers your body to release endorphins (a.k.a. happy hormones) in response to the “pain.” So yes, while I was crying softly and reconsidering my life choices, I was also scientifically proven to be... happy.
The Mushroom Manchurian was also a winner. Deep-fried first, then stir-fried in some kind of spicy, saucy mystery blend—don’t ask me what’s in it, just know it’s good. A little greasy, but when your taste buds are already under siege from the Biryani, it’s a welcome break.
Next up was the Gobi 65. Sounds like a liquor, right? Nope—just cauliflower, dunked in a deep red batter packed with Indian spices and flash-fried until it’s crispy, spicy, and strangely addictive.
To cool off, I had a Mango Lassi—basically mango, yogurt, and mercy in a glass. It was sweet, cold, and did its best to talk me down from the ledge.
Then came the Milk Butter. Now, everything you know about milk being soft, comforting, and soothing? Forget all of that. This milk meant business. This was militant dairy. Why is everything in this place spicy? I don’t know, but I respect it.
For dessert, we played it safe with classic vanilla ice cream… or so we thought. It came with two brown sweet balls floating beside it. I wasn’t sure if it was part of the dessert or a culinary prank, but it turned out to be Gulab Jamun—syrupy, warm, soft, and shockingly good with the ice cream.
Our server, Ruby, was good—quick, helpful, and kept it moving. No fuss, no drama.
All in all, if you're looking for bold flavors, maximum heat, and a little emotional damage in the best way possible—this...
Read moreWe dined at Saravanaa Bhavan for the weekend buffet during lunchtime, and in my opinion, the à la carte food options are much better.
I certainly enjoyed some of the options, but there were also some downsides. First of all, all of the curries were pretty delicious, especially the one with cabbage, the potato curries, and the Rajma (kidney bean). The Pongal was amazing, especially paired with a Sambar or Chutney. What we did not like was the Lentil Koottu, the Pooris, Dosas, Vadas, and most of the rice dishes (such as Pulao, and the curd rice). Of course, everything tasted fresh, but that does not necessarily mean it tasted good (for me, at least).
The service is friendly overall, but we were a bit annoyed when every 2-3 minutes a waiter/waitress was coming over and asking us for drinks despite us repeatedly saying 'no'. The restaurant is overall neat and well kept. There were staff members constantly coming to wipe the surroundings of the buffet area which shows their dedication towards cleanliness. One thing I would like to point out is the policy for food waste. It costs a dollar per plate if any food is wasted, but I am confused. What if the customer is extremely full, or didn't like the food? This was the case for me, because I had to forcefully finish that Lentil Koottu which I absolutely did not like, while my stomach was filled. I admire their determination to reduce food waste, but I am wondering if they kept either of these scenarios in mind.
Overall, I find some parts of Saravanaa Bhavan to be good/decent, but I am skeptical about trying this...
