Pros: Cozy mom and pop atmosphere Friendly service
Cons: Little wait time when busy
I've been coming here for a quick breakfast before work a couple of days a week for the last 3 weeks. Donut Counter is the definition of mom and pop place if you ask me. They know you by name and the atmosphere is always friendly.
I don't know when they open but they do start pretty early. I get here by about 545am and they're already open. They know most of their customers by name and order if you're a regular. It's seems to be a rotation of 2 or 3 ladies in the morning but they know each customer personally. It's a very friendly coffee shop. I love the cozy nature of this place.
As there is only one person working, it can take some time for them to process your order when it's busy. There was a day where there was about 4 other customers not including me. The lady was all by herself and even though you knew she was going her fastest, there was a back log happening. It's totally not her fault and it's just not feasible to have more than one person on for a place like this so I understand. It's something you should be prepared for if the situation arises.
I am a fan of this place. If they had some hot breakfast foods on the menu it would be a 5 for me. Still, I know I will be frequenting this place many times during my commutes to work...

Well toasted and with lots of butter -coffee good what dropped is the friendliness of the guy (who looked like if he was college student age ) I buy coffee a lot from Starbucks ,second cup , timmies and many more (coffee addicted) if their friendliness (this guy when I even said thanks couldn’t even acknowledge me )I would not go back
Perhaps they pick who their friendly too -well next time when I’m In the neighbourhood I will know to take the extra 5 min and go...
Read moreThey're like the old school donuts we used to get from donut shops as a kid, minus the cigarette stink. I think they make them fresh there. None of that Tim Hortons garbage.
I went again after all these years and the service is really nice there and the staff are nice.
Got 6 donuts.
Boston Cream: pretty good. Appears to be actual cream, pretty fluffy, not too sweet, just right
vanilla dip sprinkle: what you would expect. Fluffy and sweet
crueller: it's really fluffy but it's not sweet enough, tastes rather eggy. I would pass on this one. Texture also isn't great
Chocolate donut: not sweet enough but texture good
Plain dipped: fluffy but not sweet enough
Lemon filled: a bit sour for my taste. Could be sweeter
Was about $8 for...
