Last night, we visited this location and ordered two sets of the "2 Can Dine for $19.99" deal, with no additional items. When I received the bill, I paid it along with a tip. However, I quickly realised that the total seemed unusually high, especially considering no taxes currently applied. Upon reviewing the receipt, I noticed that instead of being charged for two "2 Can Dine" deals ($39.98 total), I was charged $19.99 for one set, while the other two meals were billed at the regular price of $17.49 each. This resulted in a total of $54.97 instead of $39.98. I immediately informed Wendy (our waitress) about the discrepancy. Her response was unexpectedâshe said she needed to consult her manager but implied that she might have to cover the difference out of her own pocket. When she returned, she stated that the manager said its impossible to refund the overcharge and confirmed that she, the waitress, would have to pay me back personally. Additionally, there was an extra $4 charge for white meat, which we were never informed about beforehand. The tip was also calculated based on the incorrect, inflated bill amount, meaning I unintentionally tipped over 15%, which was not my original intention. Ultimately, Wendy took cash out of her bag and handed me $11, making the entire situation very uncomfortable for us as customers. I have a few important questions for the management: 1-How did such a simple order result in this kind of billing error? 2-Why was I denied a refund or even a gift card as compensation for the mistake? 3-Why was the waitress repeatedly emphasizing that she had to cover the cost herself, putting us in an awkward position? 4-Why did no oneâincluding the managerâoffer an apology, and why was this situation handled so unprofessionally?
This experience was disappointing, and I hope the management takes the necessary steps to improve both billing accuracy and customer service in...
Read moreI'm a regular customer at the Swiss Chalet. Usually I go to the wilson and keele location which is so nice and service amazing.
We were working in the area at this location in Bayview and decided to stop at this location. It was the worst decision I made that day. We were we in a hurry. We ordered the spring rolls and large fries. The oriental older man had just finished serving a table that was there after us 3 gentleman. Treated them so nice. He came to our table after he served them. Imagine we were there before them. While at our table, he lifted one hand and said nothing ..like as to say what ? We were so surprised and his gesture. Not a smile, nothing for an expression or any word. Came back with our drinks and slammed them on the table, and threw the straws đ¤ˇđťââď¸
When he came back with the food, we started to eat and found hair on the in the spring roll. Needless to say, we were so horrified. What else could go wrong... I called over another person from in the kitchen and asked for the manager. After everyone was sticking their heads out of the kitchen. Staring at us, the manager came out and said to me that it was a spice, and I said. No, it's not a spice it's hair!! He was going to give me 50% off??? I was so surprised... I said I would pay for the drinks and nothing else. I expressed how unhappy I was with the server. And he told me that he had spoken to him. We got up, and we left. Worst customer service, I've ever had the worst offer I've ever had. I will never return back to that restaurant. I suggest that the Swiss Chalet head office check this location out and the horid service and management. I could have dealt with the hair but not with the rancid customer service that we got.
I've never had such a bad experience in a...
Read moreI've gone to this location 3 times in the last 2 weeks. Every one of those times I was told they were all out of dark meat. A week ago, I initially came in for take out, I was told by a lady that they were sold out of dark meat and that it will take 40minutes for another batch to be ready. Frustrated and hungry, we decided to dine in instead and wait for the dark meat. The waiter took our orders and came back to the table a minute later to inform us that there was NO DARK MEAT AT ALL and offered to upgrade to white meat free of charge when we were initially told at the take out counter that they were making more. So we asked if it was possible to wait for dark meat otherwise we would eat elsewhere. The waiter came back and told us we can wait but it will take 15minutes or so. We agreed and the chicken came after about 10minutes. Today I placed an order over the phone and after a minute of placing the order, I get a call from the restaurant saying they are OUT OF DARK MEAT AGAIN. Again, the only option she gave me was to upgrade to white meat for free. I asked if I can wait for dark meat instead so she told me the wait will be 40minutes. So I told her to cancel my order.
It's so frustrating that it seems they are always trying to get rid of an overstock of white meat! I've been to other locations countless times and I was never told they were out of dark meat and yet the Bayview and Cummer location claims to be out EVERY TIME I visit regardless if it's a weekday or weekend. I will never come back to this...
