Always fresh and amazing flavours. The veggies are “alive”! Just had a great Tiger bowl and the service as always at this location at 894 Queen St W is above great! Also had a fresh pressed juice which was Excellent! I also arrived there pretty close to 10pm after being rejected for take out due to “too close to closing” at the Bloor St store. I was there at 9:45pm. Unbelievable! This store at 894 Queen St W and their ability to serve a takeout customer close to closing vs the Fresh Store at the Carrot Common mall on the Danforth which wouldn't serve me at 9:45pm for take out about a month ago and then again last night at the Bloor St W store, is above par and a much better client experience. Really nice people too! They close at 10:00pm as well but had no issue with getting me my Tiger Bowl close to 10:00pm. To add insult to injury, the Carrot Common mall location had my Google Review of their terrible svc taken down that mentioned this on their stores Google review. The manager there replied to my Google review and insinuated that I cursed the staff as I left. That is categorically false information. I simply said: “I can’t believe you can’t serve your take out customers close to closing”. I didnt use any profanities or any other anger towards the staff. I can’t understand why they wouldn't take a takeout order at 9:45 when they close at 10:00. I really don’t want to be wasting my time on here, but I think this needs to be read by whoever owns this franchise. The staff at the Carrot Common mall and the Bloor St W locations need to be trained properly and understand their purpose for being there… it’s to serve their clients and create a great experience not clean their kitchen in time to leave right at 10:00pm. Whoever owns the Carrot Common location or the Bloor St W locations needs to hire and/or train their staff like the people at the Queen St store. Effortless and happy experience. I was there again yesterday at close to closing and the great people at 894 Queen St W had no issue whatsoever. Amazing location with really nice people. I wish I can say that for your locations at the Carrot Common Mall and the Bloor St W locations that denied service since it was too close to closing. I drove from the Bloor St location last night , after being told it’s too late to order take out, and made it in time to order from the Queen at W location. Whoever owns this franchises business needs to know what’s going on with their franchisees. Closing early for convenience sake on the employees is just wrong. This is a business not a place to hang out and decide when and how you’re going to serve the public. Huge win for 894 Queen st W and huge thumbs down on 386 Bloor and Carrot Common at 320...
Read moreI was tripping around Tuesday evening with Jenn and had to find a spot for dinner. Jenn's diet, for what it is, we came across a vegan place on Queen West called "Fresh". Jenn ordered the "Big Salad" ($11) with nothing but olive oil and salt, and I had the "Falafel Tacos" ($9) and a medium coffee, to go. We stand at the bar while we wait.....for 15 minutes. Finally, I get my coffee....in this little cup (smaller than a Timmy's small). I'm looking at the 2 larger cup sizes in front of me, grab the server and ask about the size difference. Apparently, the coffee only comes in one size. the other cups are for smoothies and such. OK. We stand at the bar while we wait....for 15 more minutes. Looking at Jenn asking if they are actually growing the vegetables for the salad. Everything is natural, but I'm assuming they prep things like the falafels and the taco fillings, so why so long. Finally our food shows up. With tax, almost $30, and we're out. A little in shock at the bill. I take a closer look and they charged $3 for the COFFEE!!!! (Americano, apparently. Oooooo) We have to get going, so I start driving and Jenn starts eating in the car. Both smell great, but something's weird. There's a sweetness to the salad she wasn't expecting. Not a vegetable sweet or even a sugar sweet. It's that kind of lingering sweetness you get from aspartame, but different. Not anything we could identify by looking at it, but definitely gave the impression of something synthetic. Then there's all this carrot juice on the bottom, which doesn't taste like "only" carrot juice. Of course, Jenn can't tolerate sugars (natural or otherwise) and starts getting a sore stomach. We get the chance to stop and I finally get to my tacos (2). They look good, but my first bite told me it was amiss. The shells were dry. The falafels (6) were about the size of a medium size marble, and the only things in my meal that tasted familiar. They put these stringy things all over it, that had the texture of chewy bacon, tasted a bit like onion, but was also bitter, like it was burnt. The veggies were fresh, but they too had that "sweet" taste, that Jenn's had. I was hungry, so a tolerated it, for the most part. Close to the end, I had enough and threw the rest out. The bottom line was, we didn't get anything we expected or liked, Jenn was now in real pain from the "sugar" they put in it, and I ate Falafel Tacos that didn't taste like falafels or tacos. So, if you're downtown and want a great vegan meal (whatever that is), you can go to "Fresh" and be completely disappointed! Of course, you can wash down the taste with a fantastic cup of Americano Coffee. Considering the tax and the coffee came out to 1/3 of the bill, IT...
