QUICK TAKE: A plant-based powerhouse that turns healthy eating into a crave-worthy experience. Trust me, even your carnivore friends will be impressed. 🔑 INSIDER TIPS: • Peak hours: Weekends 11am-2pm get packed • Secret menu hack: Ask for extra puffed quinoa on anything • Patio seating has heaters, perfect for those crisp Toronto evenings • They take allergies SERIOUSLY (tested personally with my fiancée's restrictions) 🍽️ MUST-ORDER DISHES: 1. Nachos ($16) - Not your average tortilla chips situation. These are loaded with house-made cashew queso that's somehow both rich and light. PRO TIP: Add the buffalo jackfruit (+$4) 2. Onion Rings ($12) - Forget everything you know about onion rings. These babies are encrusted with puffed quinoa (genius!) creating a next-level crunch that'll haunt your dreams. The batter-to-onion ratio is PERFECT. 3. Avocado Toast ($14) - Yes, I'm that millennial ordering avo toast, but LISTEN: their house-made sourdough is the canvas for perfectly ripened avocados. They nail the seasoning every. single. time. 4. Matcha Latte ($6) - As a matcha snob, I can confirm these are legit. Perfect temperature, no bitterness, just pure green tea bliss. 👥 SERVICE: 5/5 The staff here deserves their own review. Special shoutout to the morning crew who remembered our allergy requirements after just one visit. That's the kind of attention to detail that builds regulars. 🏠 AMBIANCE: 4.5/5 Modern meets cozy with plenty of natural light. The heated patio is the crown jewel - somehow they've created an outdoor space that works year-round (a miracle in Toronto). 💭 THE EXPERIENCE: Visited 7+ times during a week-long stay (yes, it's THAT good). Each visit was consistently excellent, which is rare in the restaurant world. Whether grabbing takeout or dining in, the quality never wavered. 🤔 WHY IT WORKS: • Allergy-friendly without compromising flavor • Consistent quality across multiple visits • Equal attention to both dine-in and takeout orders • Thoughtful touches like biodegradable packaging • Menu variety that prevents healthy-food fatigue 💡 BONUS TIP: Join their rewards program. The points add up quickly if you're a regular, and the birthday perks are worth it. 🎯 BOTTOM LINE: Fresh at Crawford isn't just another healthy restaurant - it's a testament to how plant-based food can be both nourishing and crave-worthy. After trying practically the entire menu (no regrets), I can confidently say this spot deserves a place in your regular rotation, whether you're vegan or not. PARKING: Street parking available, but can be tricky during peak hours. Consider using public transit or rideshare

🤯💥💣☁︎Hot on the heels of the film Oppenheimer, I'm trying to put my first time at Fresh into words. The flavours were fresh and explosive. "Trinity," the code name for the first detonation test of a nuclear device comes to mind. At the risk of an analogy that might not age well, it was an "awesome" meal. The word's original meaning, "causing fear or terror." Reverence for a remarkable, impressive, and inspiring experience. The watermelon ceviche is a remarkable combination of sensations. The dish is finished with sea salt, but I had it topped with feta cheese. The feta added a briny, crubmbly texture giving it a delicious "salt and pepper" contrast when scooping it up with the gochugaru and jalapeños. The pairing brings the inherent sweetness of the watermelon forward. Its lightness allows for an interplay with the sourness of the lime juice that simultaneously cleanses, cools, and refreshes the palate. Cilantro bridges the flavours of traditional ceviches, salsas, and chutneys. Finally, the corn tortilla chips remind me of the fresh hand-cranked tortillas popular at independent Mexican restaurants along the Rio Grande or the Pacific Coast Highway corridor from Los Angeles and San Diego down to Tijuana Mexico. The 'Trinity' flavour experience repeats for the BBQ Ranch Burger and Dragon Fries. Familiar flavours from the world's great cuisines fuse. It's a showcase of the dynamic range possible with incredible vegan food. A quick word about the burger. Yes. It is as big as it appears in the picture. Five bites were already gone when I realized the top bun was unscathed. I made a rookie mistake and ate the fries last. Did I want to "steam" my crispy fries? Of course not. Luckily, it didn't affect the flavour. In fact, there was so much flavour, I was tempted to drink the leftover dragon sauce. Here's an idea for the kitchen team. It might be worth considering "double dipping" the fries to keep the crisp, salty crackle going just a little longer.

Even though I’m not vegan, we frequent Fresh with a family member who is. Honestly this place has a lot of great healthy and tasty options. I always leave feeling full in a positive way (no bloating or heaviness after my meal). My six year old loved the Beyond cheeseburger sliders and couldn’t tell they were meatless. I tried the Buddha bowl for the first time. Beautifully presented, unfortunately I realized I’m just not a fan of soba noodles. I also felt that the peanut sauce gave the noodles a kind of mushy consistency which was not so pleasant. Still worth Trying something new - now I know. The Dragon Sweet Potato fries were just ok. I’ve had the regular potato fries version and much preferred it. The sweet potato fries were more like a mash where they were covered by the cheese and gravy. The Quinoa Onion Rings are hands down the crispiest, yummiest rings I’ve had. This is a winning recipe! We also had the Mini Nachos (didn’t get a chance to snap a pic of the fries, rings or nachos before everyone tore into them). Another winning recipe we’ll be sure to order again. Super tasty and satisfying :) I also tried the Lost Craft X Fresh Tropical Radler. Very enjoyable, clean, fresh tasting. The juice didn’t overpower and it wasn’t overly sweet - would have this again for sure! Very grateful to have such a conscious restaurant available to frequent - thanks Fresh!

Always fresh and amazing flavours. The veggies are “alive”! Just had a great Tiger bowl and the service as always at this location at 894 Queen St W is above great! Also had a fresh pressed juice which was Excellent! I also arrived there pretty close to 10pm after being rejected for take out due to “too close to closing” at the Bloor St store. I was there at 9:45pm. Unbelievable! This store at 894 Queen St W and their ability to serve a takeout customer close to closing vs the Fresh Store at the Carrot Common mall on the Danforth which wouldn't serve me at 9:45pm for take out about a month ago and then again last night at the Bloor St W store, is above par and a much better client experience. Really nice people too! They close at 10:00pm as well but had no issue with getting me my Tiger Bowl close to 10:00pm. To add insult to injury, the Carrot Common mall location had my Google Review of their terrible svc taken down that mentioned this on their stores Google review. The manager there replied to my Google review and insinuated that I cursed the staff as I left. That is categorically false information. I simply said: “I can’t believe you can’t serve your take out customers close to closing”. I didnt use any profanities or any other anger towards the staff. I can’t understand why they wouldn't take a takeout order at 9:45 when they close at 10:00. I really don’t want to be wasting my time on here, but I think this needs to be read by whoever owns this franchise. The staff at the Carrot Common mall and the Bloor St W locations need to be trained properly and understand their purpose for being there… it’s to serve their clients and create a great experience not clean their kitchen in time to leave right at 10:00pm. Whoever owns the Carrot Common location or the Bloor St W locations needs to hire and/or train their staff like the people at the Queen St store. Effortless and happy experience. I was there again yesterday at close to closing and the great people at 894 Queen St W had no issue whatsoever. Amazing location with really nice people. I wish I can say that for your locations at the Carrot Common Mall and the Bloor St W locations that denied service since it was too close to closing. I drove from the Bloor St location last night , after being told it’s too late to order take out, and made it in time to order from the Queen at W location. Whoever owns this franchises business needs to know what’s going on with their franchisees. Closing early for convenience sake on the employees is just wrong. This is a business not a place to hang out and decide when and how you’re going to serve the public. Huge win for 894 Queen st W and huge thumbs down on 386 Bloor and Carrot Common at 320...

I was tripping around Tuesday evening with Jenn and had to find a spot for dinner. Jenn's diet, for what it is, we came across a vegan place on Queen West called "Fresh". Jenn ordered the "Big Salad" ($11) with nothing but olive oil and salt, and I had the "Falafel Tacos" ($9) and a medium coffee, to go. We stand at the bar while we wait.....for 15 minutes. Finally, I get my coffee....in this little cup (smaller than a Timmy's small). I'm looking at the 2 larger cup sizes in front of me, grab the server and ask about the size difference. Apparently, the coffee only comes in one size. the other cups are for smoothies and such. OK. We stand at the bar while we wait....for 15 more minutes. Looking at Jenn asking if they are actually growing the vegetables for the salad. Everything is natural, but I'm assuming they prep things like the falafels and the taco fillings, so why so long. Finally our food shows up. With tax, almost $30, and we're out. A little in shock at the bill. I take a closer look and they charged $3 for the COFFEE!!!! (Americano, apparently. Oooooo) We have to get going, so I start driving and Jenn starts eating in the car. Both smell great, but something's weird. There's a sweetness to the salad she wasn't expecting. Not a vegetable sweet or even a sugar sweet. It's that kind of lingering sweetness you get from aspartame, but different. Not anything we could identify by looking at it, but definitely gave the impression of something synthetic. Then there's all this carrot juice on the bottom, which doesn't taste like "only" carrot juice. Of course, Jenn can't tolerate sugars (natural or otherwise) and starts getting a sore stomach. We get the chance to stop and I finally get to my tacos (2). They look good, but my first bite told me it was amiss. The shells were dry. The falafels (6) were about the size of a medium size marble, and the only things in my meal that tasted familiar. They put these stringy things all over it, that had the texture of chewy bacon, tasted a bit like onion, but was also bitter, like it was burnt. The veggies were fresh, but they too had that "sweet" taste, that Jenn's had. I was hungry, so a tolerated it, for the most part. Close to the end, I had enough and threw the rest out. The bottom line was, we didn't get anything we expected or liked, Jenn was now in real pain from the "sugar" they put in it, and I ate Falafel Tacos that didn't taste like falafels or tacos. So, if you're downtown and want a great vegan meal (whatever that is), you can go to "Fresh" and be completely disappointed! Of course, you can wash down the taste with a fantastic cup of Americano Coffee. Considering the tax and the coffee came out to 1/3 of the bill, IT...
