Gabby's — Restaurant in Toronto

Been here a few times the last few months. First off the food is decent. Wings are very good, burgers ok. Good value for food

Now…the service is hit and miss. Find I get better service when I’m here with a few buddies than when I’m with my gf Servers are quick to greet you when you enter but usually slow taking food orders

I’ve come by 9pm-ish and was able to order food, yet a few days later the kitchen was closed at the same arrival time Also at times the place is rocking at 930pm and at times the bar closed at 930pm. No consistency.

As for the atmosphere, the ‘regulars’ are all over served. All of them are too drunk to have another yet they are never cut off. Shots flow freely amongst regulars and servers, who take their shots in the kitchen for some odd reason. Obviously have no idea if they drink them all but have been there when server was clearly intoxicated

I’ve seen people walk in and denied service for whatever reason but the people being asked to leave are a lot more sober than regulars and at times servers who continue to drink

Will continue to frequent this establishment as it is close to home but would hate to stay to last call as who knows how...

Came in last night with a group of friends and the experience left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Food was good, atmosphere was lively and we were enjoying our time until an issue pertaining to our server arose. We witnessed our server yelling at a table using profanities, insults and vulgar language. The complete lack of professionalism left my table shocked and quite frankly made us very uncomfortable. If an issue arises with a table it should be dealt with respectfully not only as a matter of basic decency but moreover so as to not disturb the other patrons in the restaurant who do not want to witness such an interaction. Yelling and swearing at a table publicly should not be tolerated under ANY circumstances especially considering the two customers were not causing a scene or shouting back and seemed to be as shocked as us (they left shortly after). This server needs to be trained on how to properly resolve problems with customers in a restaurant environment and I only hope that she does not make a habit of disrespecting customers. Inspired to post by a review I saw. Apparently, someone isn't "comfortable" coming, and yet still does, because the regulars get "over-served". Amazingly, you judge from afar. You just sound bitter. As one of the regulars, I can tell you categorically that the average consumption among the regulars is 3-5 drinks. We enjoy each other and blow off steam after work steam and you negatively take that. THAT'S ON YOU. Perhaps if you talked to us rather than judging with your puritanical view from afar, you might join rather than complain. If this isn't your scene, don't crap on ours. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, but your lack of enjoyment isn't a reflection of the venue... IT'S ON YOU. In my humble opinion, go somewhere else instead of picking fault where there isn't any, except...
