GOAT. LEGENDARY. GREAT SNACKS.

This place is legendary. Well-known in the local community for its quality ice cream, snacks, and vibe.

There are two things you must try here:

Their home made ice cream: This is home made ice cream, not factory made processed rubbish like Baskin Robins. They have 14 flavours. And all are soft, creamy, and bursting with flavour. The chocolate ice cream atstes like what Haagen Dazs tasted like 10 years ago before their quality tanked. Even the vanilla flavour here has an aroma that would defeat the aroma of the most colourful cold toothpaste served at other big name ice cream parlours. I have tried most of the flavours here, and recommend their chocolate ice cream. Their faloodas are well-loved too.

Pastries and Hot Foods: Pastry offerings are of high quality and run the gamut from the simple mutton roll to the esoteric coconut and masala seasoned chick peas salad. The hot items are themselves a roster of purely original and interesting items like Pal Appam and Crab Curry. I have tried almost every item here.

The tandoori chicken was A+, making KFC taste like cardboard.

The crab fry was impeccable. A medium sized swimming crab roasted in spices and simmered in a rich curry sauce. This is how crab curry is prepared in Sri Lanka. This was better than most pretentious seafood preparations I've tried in downtown Toronto steakhouses.

I sampled their fish curry, awesome taste. Deep tamarind flavour thatcis sour and spicy, a rare combo. And the fish steak is tender and deeply marinated. The curry sauce is thick and rich.

I got a parota to go along with that fish and crab curry. This place isn't known for rotis but they make excellent, heavy, soft parotas. Fresh, starchy, and chewy, this is classic parota as it should be.

As a side, the coconut masala seasoned chick peas were mouthwatering. The coconut taste carries itself around the mouth while eating the chick peas. By itself this could be a meal.

Next up the pal appam. A rice crepe with coconut essence, and a condensed milk topping in the center. THIS IS FRESHLY made to order in front of your eyes, justcas it would be in a food stall in south India.

For snacks, the veggie roti I got was bomb. The samosa was decent.

For munchies, the tapioca starch fried balls were palate cleansing with their sweet flavour.

For beverages, they serve masala tea, masala coffee, and regular Americanos. They prepare using a professional grade Italian coffee machine. Lingan Cream House will impress you. Whether it's an ice cream snack or a dinner set, they will not dissappoint. It's common to see a lineup outside their storefront that runs around the block, because they are that good and well-regarded for their quality.

Must visit if you are visiting the GTA and want something memorable and out of the ordinary. It's truly a shame the average Toronto food influencer has not heard of this place or would bother to visit it over ordinary fare in downtown.

Staff here is extremely courteous, friendly, and know their stuff well. They are after all the ones who make the ice cream.

Lingan Cream House is a delightful blend of ice cream and South Indian-Sri Lankan snacks, creating a unique culinary experience that tantalizes the taste buds. The vibrant ambiance immediately sets the tone for a diverse gastronomic journey, with a charming fusion of traditional and modern decor.

The ice cream selection is a highlight, featuring an array of exotic flavors that range from classic vanilla to innovative combinations like cardamom-infused mango. Each scoop is a creamy delight, showcasing a perfect balance of sweetness and richness. The quality of ingredients is evident, and the ice cream is consistently smooth and luscious.

Moving to the South Indian and Sri Lankan snack section, Lingan Cream House offers a mouthwatering assortment that caters to both familiar and adventurous palates. The dosas are a standout, boasting a thin, crispy texture and a delectable blend of spices. The samosas are generously filled and flawlessly fried, creating a satisfying crunch with every bite.

What sets this establishment apart is its commitment to authenticity. The chefs skillfully capture the essence of South Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, infusing each dish with traditional flavors that transport diners to the streets of Chennai or Colombo. The use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients adds an extra layer of authenticity to the culinary experience.

Service at Lingan Cream House is commendable, with attentive staff members who are eager to guide patrons through the menu. The wait times are reasonable, considering the made-to-order nature of many dishes. The staff's knowledge of the menu and willingness to accommodate dietary preferences contribute to an overall positive dining experience.

The pricing is reasonable, considering the quality and diversity of offerings. Lingan Cream House manages to strike a balance between offering gourmet ice cream and authentic South Indian-Sri Lankan snacks without breaking the bank. The portions are generous, ensuring that customers leave satisfied and eager to return.

The ambiance of the establishment is warm and inviting,...

I gave 1 star since no option for no star. We had a takeout ( sherbet ) for a function. They gave it to us in a cooler. After the function, I went to return the cooler to get the deposit $100 back. The girl at the front noticed a little bit of mango shake in the cooler, but outside the cooler we can see the sherbet colour. She said it is not theirs, and brought a lady from inside to check, that lady said the cooler looks so dirty, theirs is a new one. So I thought it was mixed up with another cooler we took out Mango shake from another place. But I found out their cooler was different colour (blue ) and they had their name written on it. So I called back Lingam and told them it was not from the other place, they said to bring it back. When I brought back again, they started from the beginning saying it was not theirs. I told them I came in the morning, and went to check with the other place, and back again . There was a gentleman kept saying it was not theirs, and the cashier kept serving other customers, ignoring me. Very rude , not honest, and not professional with customers. The other customers in the store gave me a bad look, they may have thought I was a lier. It was so embarrassing standing there just to get the deposit back. After few minutes, that same staff came and ask me what I was gonna do. Finally, after long time they gave me the deposit back and said it was still not theirs. *Alert ******. I highly suggest to take a photo of the cooler before bringing it outside if you need to...

Very popular place for deserts.About a dozen flavours of ice creams, falooda and the staple Sri Lankan baked goods. Had the falooda (rating:4 out of 5) Mango and Pistachio ice cream special (rating: 4 out of 5). The Cookies and Cream and Oreo (rating: 3 out of 5). The specials come with jello, and nuts at the bottom and topped with chocolate syrup and more nuts. The fish bun was tasty. A filling of spiced potato and fish (rating: 4 out of 5). The sweet onion bun was sweet and spicy (rating 4.5 out of 5). There is an appam station making hot fresh appams the way they should be made with an egg, cracked and spread on the inside. A nice place to visit if you’re craving a cold treat. They accept credit and debit cards. Expect to wait outside the store as there’s a 3 person limit inside the store.
