Nostalgic place that has unfortunately taken a turn for the worst as of late. This is a spot that has been around ever since I can remember, however my last visit was a memorable one for all the wrong reasons...
Supporting small business has been extremely important amidst the pandemic, and, I completely understand the influx of customers that has caused restaurants to pivot staff and get creative in terms of health and safety.
However, food safety is also an important topic that must be visited; especially when making chicken and all of the issues that can arise when chicken is not cooked properly.
I ordered via their website and awaited patiently outside with a friend for our orders. Upon which we both had received uncooked sandwiches when biting into our first couple of bites. The first indicator of a potential issue at PG’s was that there was an alarming amount of people also outside of the establishment with recently purchased food... possibly flagging the same things.
Please keep safe everyone, and hopefully this feedback is taken seriously with the recent rise to fame of chicken sandwiches across the city.

[Update]
In response to the owner below - who has yet to respond to the email they requested :
If you click my name you can see that I don’t leave negative reviews (literally).
As a business owner and on a public forum , you fully accept the fact that the platform is for EVERYONE to voice their concern whether it be good or bad.
Further to the above, I’ve had fried chicken in the Caribbean, 15+ states in America and all over Canada.... never ever is a soft pink texture an indicator of chicken that is thoroughly cooked. [You can also see that there are similar reviews below mine with growing concerns of sandwiches being made 6 minutes after an order was placed and also multiple people getting sick in reviews; this issue is probably isolated to specific workers who most likely require retraining on food safety and frying your chicken]
Perhaps I should shed some more light publicly since you are trying to mask my experience online with your food preparation tactics and brine ... questioning a customer’s intelligence on a public forum and challenged them to email you rather than leave a negative review? It’s quite embarrassing if you ask me.
Here is the full scenario:
You had 3 different complaints that same evening (go review who worked that day and review all your online orders inclusive of Uber) ; those complaints happened in front of me and I assured my friend (who had never been there and was visiting from Calgary) that PG is top notch.
The person preparing the food gave an order to another person with the same name as me and rushed my chicken sandwich .. which then caused the texture to not only be not fully cooked chicken but also the hue of the chicken to resemble fully uncooked chicken.
Both my friend and I had excessive diarrhea that evening and well into the morning as a result of the food that was undercooked from your establishment.
I encourage you to always seek to help people and investigate isolated scenarios like these with your staff.. I never once questioned your recipe as I’ve come to PG before... and you can also see that my profile has zero negative reviews.
I hope you investigate this matter and who worked there that day rather than insulting a paying customer’s intelligence due to emotions of a negative review on a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying PG Cluck's chicken sandwich, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight. Priced at $15, this sandwich is worth every single penny. From the moment I took my first bite, I knew I was in for a treat.
Starting with the basics, the bun was perfectly soft and fresh. It held the sandwich together well without overwhelming the star of the show—the chicken. The sauce on the sandwich was undoubtedly the highlight for me. It added a burst of flavor that complemented the chicken perfectly, elevating every bite.
Now, let's talk about the chicken itself. It was incredibly tender and juicy, cooked to perfection. The coating on the chicken was outstanding, with a mouthwatering batter that had just the right amount of crispness. Each bite was a symphony of textures, with the juicy chicken encased in the delectable batter.
And let's not forget about the fries! They were some of the crunchiest fries I've ever had. The crispness was satisfying, and they were clearly made with care. It was evident that the fries were freshly prepared, enhancing the overall experience of the meal.
PG Cluck has definitely won me over with their incredible chicken sandwich. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in their preparation truly shine through. I have no doubt that I'll be visiting PG Cluck again and again whenever I'm in the vicinity.
If you're a fan of chicken sandwiches, do yourself a favor and make a beeline for PG Cluck. This sandwich is a flavor-packed delight that will leave you craving more. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreFirst time trying this. I got the Big Cluck sandwich, banana pudding, 2 pieces of chicken, and coleslaw. It came with 2 dipping sauces as well - ranch and some type of smokey chili sauce (yummy). My total was $29 and change for pick-up. Over all id say it was pretty good. I could tell everything was fresh and made from scratch. The fried chicken for the sandwich was made with what looked like boneless skin-on chicken thighs, which is fine however the sauce had made the chicken less crispy...not saying it was not crispy at all, but the combination of it being dark meat (slightly chewy) as well as the sauce, left some crunching to be desired. The sandwich was pretty decent, but I gotta say that I prefer Chik-Fil-a, Popeyes or Burger Priests chicken sandwiches.
It seemed to be the same boneless chicken thighs were used for the 2 piece fried chicken as well, although these were dusted with a nice seasoning, and were perfectly crispy and tasty.
The coleslaw was alright but nothing to write home about. Slightly tangy with a creamy, buttermilk-esq dressing. I love coleslaw so I finished all of it, quickly.
Best of all was the banana pudding. Not overly sweet, cold, rich, and with pieces of cookies and bananas. I would go back for just the pudding. So good!
Overall 3/5 stars. Food was fresh, service was fast and friendly, sauces were tasty. Everything else was just OK, aside from the banana pudding which you should definitely get...
