Tim Hortons — Restaurant in Toronto

My family dined here on a Wednesday night Feb. 4th 2025 (the date of this review), 8:20pm. I chose this location due to its proximity to where I live and I remember this Tim’s as excptoionally clean. I do have a concern.

At 8:20pm; 40 minutes to close all the ovens were shut off and I was unable to order pizza or any specialty food items. I was informed that this was standard procedure as all ovens are turned off at 8pm sharp. The cashier, though patient despite my demeanour explained that because the store closes at 9pm it is normal for them to shut off the fryers, and ovens (I can only assume the toasters as well). I applaud your employee for his patience.

ASSUMPTION.

With only 2 visible crew at this time of night I can only guess that the employees do not receive pay after the store closes so they try to clean up the store as quickly as possible. One of your employees is currently cleaning the floors and entrance since we arrived. I’ve been in a similar situation in my life before and IF this is what is happening then I completely understand the procedure. They served ~14 patrons since I arrived; now 8:50pm.

Being the only restaurant or coffeeshop within a radius of about a mile, this little Timmy's ends up serving all the high-rise condos on Wynford and Concord - a population the size of a small town. The staff is well trained, friendly and efficient, but still have trouble keeping up with the hoards that descend on the place come lunchtime. Lines often extended through the entire length of the shop, and wait times can eat up half your lunch break. There's no drive-through. During the rest of the day, the place is nice and pleasant, and kept clean.

Be on the lookout when waiting for your order - some petty crooks like to pick this place for a free lunch. They'll order a cheap item, and if the staff calls out for someone with a bigger order while they wait, they'll just grab it and dash out. The staff will gladly make your order again for you, but you'll be waiting for it yet again.

I just had a terrible experience today at this location. I placed an order for 2 turkey bacon club sandwiches because the option for just a turkey sandwich was not available.

In my order under Protein I insured it said no for bacon. When I went to pick up the order I confirmed and was told that my order contained bacon. I explain that for religious reasons I do not eat bacon. The staff there were preoccupied with proving to me that it was not their fault that they put bacon in my order And refused to make me new sandwiches. They only offered to remove the bacon from my sandwich which for me was not acceptable. So I told them to toss out the sandwiches. This is not the service I expect being born and raised in Canada. Staff should be trained for customer service scenarios such as the is one. And staff should also be trained that simply removing bacon off a sandwich is offensive and...
