Nestled just west of the DVP at Lawrence Avenue, the Mocassin Trail Park stretches over 15 hectares of naturalized ravine forest, split in two by DVP. The trail contains some incredible original forest, a small but beautiful beaver pond, a park area with picnic benches (currently unavailabledue to COVID), 4 bike trails, and wide walking trails. Although you never loose the white noise of the DVP and one remains close to civilization; it is the crisp fragrance of the flora, fresh cool breeze and calmness that offers the much needed solace from our busy lifestyle.

PROS - 1. Features interesting urban vistas in a natural green setting. Interesting sites like the iconic Rainbow Bridge, overhead Railway Bridge. Hidden spots to watch the Don river - find a rock to settle and meditate for 10 mins - watch the ducks.

CONS - 1. entrance is hidden, can be very confusing. Sharp, steep turns on biking trails - one needs to watch out for pedestrians and families with...

This park is part of the East Don Trail, which connects to a trail that follows the Don River. The most popular attraction along the trail is the Rainbow Tunnel seen while driving northbound on the DVP. Specific to this park, there is a picnic area as well with ample space between.

Overall, the trail is fairly simple and runs north south from Lawrence in the north to Wynford Drive in the south. The north part of the trail is located at Milne Hollow just off the DVP at Lawrence.

Important to note is that there is parking at the park even though it is not clearly indicated on Google Maps. At the entrance of the park is where you can drive down to the...

This whole trail is amazing! There are so many animals to see. After the rain I caught a couple toads. There are also frogs and bunnies and deer and groundhogs. There are a lot of winding trails into the forest as well and we found 3 (so far) little cottage style huts in the bush! A great for exploring, lots of places for photos and for picnics. Little beachy areas. Amazing for bird watching. Sometimes we see fishers too, it's a really good place to walk your dog and for kids to play. There are loads of fire pits as well, cliffs to climb, bridges, everything is connected....
