The highlight of the meal for my family was the salmon and salmon avocado hand rolls. They were expertly prepared, and the flavors were simply outstanding. My daughter and son couldn't get enough of them, and it's always a joy to see them thoroughly enjoy their food.

Read moreI’ve ordered takeout from Umami House several times now and have consistently been impressed. Their menu selection is fantastic — lots of variety and unique options, much more elaborate than your average sushi spot.
The fish is always fresh, and the portion sizes are fair for the price. This time, I ordered the Chirashi Don (rice topped with an assortment of raw fish), which I’ve had at least twice before and it was just as delicious as I remembered — fresh, well-balanced, and satisfying.
My mom ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box, which she’s also enjoyed here in the past. Unfortunately, this time the chicken was mostly skin and fat — barely any actual meat — and it ended up being pretty inedible, which was disappointing. She’s not one to complain, so I only realized something was wrong when I noticed she wasn’t touching her chicken. Luckily, the bento box also comes with California rolls, miso soup, and salad, so she still had something to enjoy for dinner. Based on this experience, I’d probably skip the Teriyaki Chicken in the future.
One thing I absolutely love about Umami House is their takeout presentation — hands down the best I’ve seen anywhere. The containers feel like they’re made from thin wood (not the usual plastic or foam), and they always include a little flower with the sushi for presentation. It’s such a thoughtful and classy touch that sets them apart.
Overall, still a great spot for fresh sushi and creative Japanese dishes — just be mindful of the Teriyaki Chicken. I’ll definitely continue...
