I gave Eggstatic in Scarborough a 2 star based on their food and customer service. I came with a friend based on reviews we've seen of their place and was excited to try it out. I left disappointed in the service. From the start, we walked in and were waiting a whole for a greeter to seat us. While we had a reservation, it was not needed as they just sat us without looking at it, which is fine, no issues there. The issue was that all the servers and staff would not stop starring at my friend and I - we were seated and told to scan for the menu. We waited over 15 minutes and no one came to our table. Not one person to even say that they would be there shortly, no water, nothing. Wait times are fine, but our table was purposely ignored. Staff were going to other tables to wait on customers, cleaning up etc, but completely ignoring us. We looked around to catch the eye of someone and we're again ignored. One server came over, Chantal, who was very nice and gracious - she made the experience better. Prior to her coming over, we were contemplating on leaving just based on the environment. She came over and asked if we had been taken care of already. Which we had not been so she mentioned that while she was not our server she would serve us. Again great experience with her. The entire dining experience, our original server never came to our table, however she came to the table next to ours and served them, asked if they were okay etc. this was off putting but again we didn't say anything as Chantal continued to serve us. I confirmed prior to us leaving if Chantal was our server and she confirmed she was not but became ours, again she was very nice about it. And I asked what the reason and who our server was, again it was the girl next to our table, she was there cleaning another table. When asked what the issue was, there was no response to be given. Food was great, but overall experience was upsetting. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends but I commend the location on having at least one staff like Chantal. Other than that, please reconsider how you do business and train your staff. If this continues to happen, people will not come to your business.

Less than 24 hours after leaving my review below, I was reached out to directly by the owner. He came to my office with coffee and an appetizer in the morning - unfortunately I was working from home đ. I then received a voicemail from a colleague as he had reached out to our general line to get in touch with me directly. He offered to make the situation right financially but I told him I would visit again with my wife and he could help me out then. That follow-up visit was nothing short of amazing; I was personally greeted by both co-owners, the manager, and the server from below. Our meal was complimentary and the service was amazing. The food and atmosphere is amazing all times I've visited and now it's confirmed the service is even greater. I am thoroughly impressed with how far the team went to make the situation right. My wife was embarrassed with how much attention they paid to us. To top it off, I was left with a personal apology letter. I worked in the service industry for many years and this level of excellence is what is missing in Toronto these days. Thank you to Shivam, Akash and Koshika! I will certainly be back to this location again, but you've created lifelong Eggstatic fans between my wife and I, and we'll make sure our friends, family and coworkers know it! See you soon.
This location opened up recently near our office and I've since visited several times with different colleagues. Recently I visited with one of my teams and it was 6 ppl. in total. The server neglected to mention that 18% gratuity was automatically added to the bill and so when prompted on the credit card machine, I tipped 18% again. While I may have added additional gratuity anyway, I find it extremely underhanded that she would not make it clear when presenting the bill and credit card machine together - this should be policy. We had reservations but still had to wait an extra 35-40 mins. During this time waiting, we decided to look at the menu on the website so we could order right away. When we received the order, mine was not at all what was described on the menu on the website. I got the Eggstatic Tomato Jacket which states there is beef in the tomato and egg mix and beef sausage on the side as well. I search through the watery egg mixture and there was no beef inside and no beef sausage.
I called the waitress over and she said that is it made the way it came. I showed her the website menu and she still argued that I was wrong that it did not come with meat. She took my food and spoke with the cook. She came back and said that this is a recent change and that this is how it is and if I wanted sausage she would have to charge us. I told her that they should honour what the menu states and that itâs not right to charge us because they âforgotâ to update the menu. I am a Bariatric patient and pretty much only eat protein, which is why I got this.
My son was so frustrated and didnât want to hear it anymore so told her to just bring the sausage and we paid.
After all that, unfortunately, the food just was not worth what we paid, which was a lot. My meal alone was $25.00 and $5.00 for sausage. I stated at the beginning of my post the eggs were soaked in some kind of runny watery juices. I did not see any kind of cheese, even though it said it came with Swiss and cheddar. It was just quite disappointing. Also, if anybody is going there thinking theyâre getting beef breakfast sausage theyâre not. I donât know what type of sausages they were but they were not breakfast sausage.
I think paying over $100 for 3 mediocre breakfast meals is very disappointing.
