Saturday Night Birthday Meal Saw an advertisement on Facebook and decided to try out Fifty-11 in Bonnyville. Parking Plenty of parking and not at all packed on a Saturday night. Suspicious?!? Getting a table Was greeted about a 3 minute wait. Didn't seem too busy with 5 tables inside and 3 outside. Seem like the hostess didn't really pay any attention to the doors. Was led to a table inside and had to request a patio seat. There were only 3 tables occupied while at least 12 setup and available. Ordering The waitress brought the food menu but not a drink menu. Not sure if this is standard practice. Choose the Prime Rib Dinner (Special) and requested a drink menu. Was brought it after I ordered and not even 5 minutes after I got the menu, I was reply an email and she already asked what I wanted to drink. I needed a bit more time then finally selected the Blueberry Ale. It was not bad. Food This was where it kind of went down hill for me. So I ordered a Prime Rib Special, but emthe waitress didn't ask and said ok. I kinda thought it was weird after the fact when she didn't ask how well I wanted it done. I let it go and realized I should have clarified with her, or vice versa...she brought me the Prime Rib dip instead of the dinner. I asked why is there bread and she said this is the prime rib dip. I said no I think you have mistaken and that I wanted a prime rib dinner. She quickly apologized and set it right and recovered. The Prime Rib was ok. Compared to The Sawmill or Keg it was no match. The sides were a bit salty, especially the au juice on the prime rib. The sides were ok, nothing show stopping. I did try to use the pepper mill and add pepper to offset the saltiness...but it broke and the peppercorns just flew out...perhaps they need to check serviceability of condiments when opening? After I finished my dinner I ordered the Chocolate Souffle (birthday afterall). It was good but again nothing earth shattering...but it was the best part of my meal! Overall The waitress did say she was new so no big issues, the food was ok for the price point. Other than the beautiful decor/patio, and an awesome sunset, I'm not convinced that I will return for a meal I have to drive 80kms for. Maybe their buffet lunch/dinner/or brunch would be better. Perhaps I'll try it next time I head out of town and on the way.

The service was quite bad, the hostess/waitress stared at us while we walked in and didn't greet us at all, just went "for two?" and then walked into the restaurant. We ordered the beef dip with cream of chicken soup and chipotle chicken quesadilla with fries. The beef dip (both sandwich and dip) were quite flavourless. Even Boston Pizza makes a better beef dip. The quesadilla was nice, but there wasn't a lot of the chipotle taste. The soup was hot but tasted like canned soup, and the fries were okay. I always hate to rate local restaurants low, but this experience was very unpleasant. I will not return, and don't recommend this restaurant. There is a lot of nice indigenous art hung throughout the lobby and restaurant, which definitely improved the atmosphere.

Went have dinner with some family, we waited a while before we were seated. The waitress got our orders mixed up, we had to ask for cutlery, food was not the best and after we were done we waited like 15 mins for our bill. The waitress was well aware we were done because she cleared our table then never returned. We had to call another waitress who mentioned ours was busy on the phone. The floors were also filthy. Not the greatest experience. The only highlight was the music playing.

I should have taken the hint when we walked in at 6:45 on a Saturday night and only one other table was occupied. The food was bland and tasteless. My wife ordered a prime rib dip with fries and gravy. The sandwich had over an inch and a half of bun, with no meat. We eventually got a condiment tray, when I asked for salt and pepper. She had to salt it and use HP sauce to taste anything. Waitress didn't bring gravy with her order, we had to wait until she found time to come back and then ask for it. By the time she got the gravy, her fries were cold. I ordered a Fifty-11 burger with onion rings. I got a burger and fries. By the time my onion rings arrived, we had had enough of this place. Burger was bland, but too big to tear apart and season / sauce it. We both agreed that the next time we went to Fifty-11, it'll be somewhere else instead. We walked out, leaving more than half our meals on our plates, and we like take-home boxes! Do yourself a favor, if two waitresses can't handle two tables in an entire restaurant, and the kitchen can't cook food with taste, go...
