Burger Baron — Restaurant in Town of Carstairs

Usually very good - excellent to be Exact but tonight, salt, salt & more salt!!!! Stopped here (where we Love to get take out) to get chicken on our way home from a Long hard physical day building our Camp at Bergen and to our disappointment they didnt have the pieces of chicken we wanted but oh well - we Understand that. So, we decided on a Burger each fries & gravy. I always get the mushroom Swiss burger there and the reason is the sauce! The guy asked if I wanted “mozzarella” so I said ok. Soooo, no sauce 😢 - the worst part though is if I wanted salt I would guzzle a Box of sifto! I am so embarrassed that I bragged about their gravy being “the best ever” To our Calgary realtor! If you’re lucky enough to be in the beautiful town of Carstairs, Alberta on a warm sunny day you are absolutely required to hit up the baron. Eat at the tables outside, take it to the park, heck take it to a bench by the cemetery if you must, just enjoy this deliciousness and thank the heavens a place like this still exists. I spent two months in Carstairs in the summer of 2020 and i swear i ate the veggie burger every day. I ate so many they started inventing an entire secret vegan menu just for me. Next thing you know they were making me vegan pizza burgers, with vegan cheese and pineapples on it. Again, i was vegan and in Carstairs for two months, as you can imagine the options were pretty sparse. They went out of their way to do something special for me and I’ll never forget that. I have lived in Alberta my whole 60+ years and today was the first time ever at trying Burger Baron. I heard so many good things over the years and I just wanted to give it a try. Honestly it was nothing special at all. The service was disengaged, then the tipflation pressure at payment. OK. After a full 5 minutes as the car at the pickup window I get the bag. Thanks. Buh bye now. So I kind of hoped they were making these to order, hence the wait. Seems not. The fries were sparing for the price, overly seasoning salted on the top and too cool to be made to order. The burger was pretty much slapped together and I had to rebuild it and add seasoning. It tasted alright. I always hope to find establishments that I will return to and recommend, but this place is not up to that....
