Went in to look around as I saw they advertised selling flowers. An old lady greeted me and asked if I was there for breakfast. I said no I just wanted to take a look. The place was charming, and had lots of little trinkets and curios. I inquired about if she sold flowers and she bluntly said yes. So I continued looking around and then an old man asked if I was ok. Before I even responded the old lady piped up saying I was just looking. I went to her and asked if she sold live flowers as well. She said yes I can bring some in. I am just SO glad I found this place. I travel through Valleyview for work on a monthly basis. I’ll be happy to stay the night here now. Had a good selection of domestic beer but I opted for the Errdinger German beer. I ordered a soup to start, the traditional wiener schnitzel, potato salad and a beet salad on the side. I also took a slice of homemade apple pie to go, which I will surely enjoy tomorrow along with the leftovers from dinner (huge portions!) Everything was excellent, clearly made from scratch. First time I tried this restaurant. I haven't enjoyed an authentic German restaurant in Alberta in years...until NOW! The service and atmosphere was like coming home, very welcoming and pleasant. The menu was surprisingly complete for german choices, unlike other restuarants that have maybe 2 authentic dishes and the rest all western food; this menu had it all.
