Bad experience. We were on our way to Montreal from Peterborough when we thought to stop into this beautiful town and take a coffee break. Not sure how to characterize it so I’ll just describe the experience. We (two people) wanted to order a a regular coffee, an iced coffee and a bagel with cream cheese. The lady, after listening to the first item, just went back to make it. In the meantime, another lady came and asked if we mind getting another customer ringed up. We were like, sure! In some time, the first lady came back with the iced coffee and asked if that was it. Now, I don’t know why a barista would assume an order of just one coffee between two people. I said I’d like a regular coffee as well. And before I could continue to order the bagel with cream cheese, she turned around to pour the regular one. In the meantime, the other lady came again asking us if we’d be okay with another customer ringed up. It was a bit weird (certain customers made to wait while others allowed to skip the line?). We left skipping the bagel order, sensing that perhaps we were not welcome there. Coffee was okay but this was first of its kind of experience for us in Canada. And on ā€œCanada Dayā€, of all the days!

Like stepping back to a time where food quality and service and just being friendly meant more then churning out orders, Bridgewater Coffee & Pizza is the epitome of and small town shop. Decorated with an eclectic mix of furniture and pictures of what I'm sure is memories from locals in the area, this restaurant is definitely a callback to an era that is gone in larger cities but fits perfectly on the shores of the Trent. Ordered 4 coffee's and 4 western omelet sandwiches which were all freshly made and tasted very good. Didn't get to have lunch as we were there for some fishing but for what we had, it was a good pick for a lazy Sunday morning.

It's an excellent restaurant in a great location. A few parking spots are on the side of the building. Had a variety of treats and many flavors of Kawartha ice cream available here. The place smells of very amazing pizza as you walk in. It gets a little stuffy inside on a very warm day, but they have a few sitting arrangements on the outside patio. Customer service is excellent and a very clean restaurant. Will go back to try the pizza next time around as this visit was solely for ice cream. Highly recommended spot for the beautiful town of hastings.

A mess.from the minute wr walked in. We have been coming here for.many years on our way into or.out of town foe a quick bite. This place used to be a solid gem and I'm not sure what happened. Menu has changed. Very limited. Used.to have a wonderful breakfast with bacon /eggs/toast &coffee. It's now imited with sandwiches & bagels. Which leads to me my next point. The we.ordered 3 different options for 3.of us and all 3... tasteless and sad. Small portions, no seasonings, my dad pizza pocket.thing was missing half the items listed on the menu board. The coffee sadly was tossed. I'd consider it un drinkable. I'm no big foodie but this place needs help.

1 cook , 1 very young and confused cashier. Every question we had.ahe had.to leave and ask the cook, on my way out I decided to grab a few baked.goods... this turned into a completely mess. At one point she had.my bill over 50$ with no idea how to ring it in. Again she left and when the cook came up she was non glove hamdbombing my food into another box. Yes ... after playing with the register. Heather and safety standards must be different up north because here in the city that'd a violation.

The saddest part is I know what this place used to be. Hopefully they can find a better groove and improve the menu...

We needed soft food for someone with a new dental crown so I opted for 2 toasted Western sandwiches, one on rye and one on brown (she bakes the bread here too) and a fork. Either we were near to starvation or the mixture of ham, cheese, tomato and onion was precisely what was we wanted. Both sandwiches were Delicious, and fully satisfying. The breads were the perfect delivery for a hand held lunch. Anyone who has read our reviews knows we are Buttertart fans, and the Cafe's fit right up there with the top few, of the buttery, flakey, sweetness only found in Canada. We are so glad personally, and for your sake that the Bridgewater Cafe made It through Covid and is still...
