I do not understand why customers are subsidizing the restaurant owner.

If a restaurant owner can’t afford to pay their employees a living wage then their business model doesn’t work. That’s how it is for every other business.

A person’s livelihood should not be dependent upon the arbitrariness of tips. It’s so ridiculous. I gave a good tip and the waitress literally stopped me and asked me for more money, she said I didn't give enough, she was rude. Tipping should be banned and waitresses should be paid better by their employers....

Je ne savais pas qu’un simple petit-déjeuner pouvait ressembler à une aventure digne d’un film d’action, mais voilà où je me suis retrouvé ce samedi matin. Dès que j’ai franchi la porte de ce restaurant, j’ai été accueilli par un serveur avec plus d’énergie qu’un lapin Duracell sous stéroïdes. J’ai commandé des pancakes, et j’ai été surpris de voir qu’ils étaient littéralement de la taille d’un frisbee. Je ne sais pas si j’étais censé les manger ou jouer à un match de frisbee ultimate avec le cuisinier.
