This is an honest review. I've tried many Indian restaurants in my life, especially in MTL, so I have a solid foundation for comparison.
Small portions for main dishes given the price. The meat is a bit dry and not very tender; it feels like it's been reheated. However, the sauces are really good, and the mix of spices is well-balanced.
The samosas are among my top 3 ever. I could come back just for them.
The pakoras are decent. It would be great to add onion bhaji to the menu. (Do not correspond the the website menu picture.)
The dessert I got was, OMG, very good with lots of flavor (rose)! I'll order more next time.
The naan bread's texture is hard, and the taste is bland. I'd avoid it. I think they should work on that, naan bread are so the center piece of Indian meal.
Overall, it's expensive considering the size of the main dishes; we were very surprised by that. But, food price increased everywhere, but still a bit on the pricy side.
With just a bit more work, this restaurant could become a 5 stars, people working there were friendly, so I hope them to consider my honest review to improve their...
Read moreBy far not impressed.
Order an hour before, order wasn't ready when we arrived. Not a big deal, just a weird start for a first impression.
We were thrilled to try a new restaurant, and bought 90$ not knowing quantities. 3 main dishes, 2 samosas, 2 naan bread, nothing too complicated. At that price point we thought at worst, we will have extras for the next day.
Oh boy was I wrong. Total order ? Basically 4$ of meat, 86$ of rice. Price vs quality vs quantity are way too off.
The butter chicken had 4 pieces of chicken and the rest was sauce (for 20$, common guys) although it was good.
The beef Curry was horrendous, so we trashed it. A slimy, sticky, overcooked beef without flavour. Stay away from this one, 21$ for this should be a crime.
Biryani was 98% rice with two small bits of chicken on top. Good, but again, you pay 15$ for rice.
Where I lost it was the naan bread. The most common item on a Indian food menu. Stale, hard, dry.
We are quite bummed out from this experience. Don't think we'll order there again.
Can't understand why this place has a 4 star, or if it's only tonight that they...
Read moreLet's get directly to the part you really care about, the food was absolutely amazing, I could taste so many flavors, we were 3 people, 2 of them (myself included) ordered the butter chicken, the last person ordered the combo and curry beef. We shared and tasted everything from the combo and it was that much worth it.
Now, the only two "complaints" is that for example with the butter chicken, you get around like 6-7 chicken pieces which one would argue isn't that much but nonetheless, I was full after everything.
Finally, the price, expect 30$ per person, it's not cheap by any means but in my honest opinion, it's well worth it supporting a local growing restaurant that offers such...
