Stayed on Aug 2022 - COVID-19 rules of safety were still applicable.
The room was really nice and the shared pool & hot tub too.
When we arrived we were there too early, but we had sent a message to ask if we could let our luggages in the luggage room. They said that it is ok, it wasn't a luggage room though but a reception room locked by key. But when we arrive the woman at the reception was despicable, not welcoming at all and when we asked for our luggages she seemed not to be aware and not to know what to do. I mentioned the reception room and she then reluctantly open it for us. When we left and thanked her she almost ignored us, almost despising us...
An other woman later was really nice though! But the one when we checked out (not sure but who might be the same than when we arrived) was training a new recrue and almost ignored us, we had neither information about the reimbursement of our room deposit nor invoice for the stay.
We had to choose in advance some specific things for the breakfast such as yogurt, bread, eggs, fruits and oatmeal. The choice was limited and we couldn't have everything only 3 of them, if I'm not mistaken. Then, the morning we had to ask for our selection that they kept behind the reception desk. We had free access to some disgusting fruit juice at a machine and coffee at an other. There was toasters for the bread and some jam, peanut butter, butter etc. But that's all. Nothing to prepare oatmeals (it was mentioned on it to use water/milk then to microwave). There was milk but those little doses to put in coffee so, either you use 5 or 6 in your oatmeal (not really easy nor ecological), or you use water, and there was absolutely no microwave. We asked for soft-boiled eggs but we had hard-boiled eggs which were strangely elastic. Yogurts were with random fruit flavors, but we weren't asked which one we would liked, we expected them to be plain, so these flavors were an additional bad surprise... It might have been the worst hotel breakfast I...
Read moreWe have stayed here 4 or 5 times now while visiting family in Nicolet. It's usually the best rate in trois rivieres.
I have had to update the review because in the last 8 months, we find our experience hasnt been as great. The rooms are starting to show a lot of damage and out dated furnishings. Floors are ripped, paint wearing away, rusty shower heads, rusty faucets, noisy beds, chipped furniture, small old fridges that barely hold 6 water bottles. The room wasn't as clean when we checked in. Floors felt dirty and we even found hair balls (looks like a clump of hair from someone's hair brush) . The service has also gone down hill, the employees seem to be worn out and not as approachable and friendly. No smiles. Barely any eye contact. We stay at this hotel every time we visit trois rivieres (3 times per year) and now we are starting to look elsewhere. It's unfortunate.
Has a Continental breakfast which is always good (bagels, breads, yogurts, fruit salad, hard boiled eggs, fruit, cereals, oatmeal etc) and it's always a clean area.
The pool has a cool water slide so the kids love it. And it's always so warm in the pool area which is a plus for me, 83° 😉 and the water is warm, I don't have to wince with every step in.
The AC worked well. Kept the room cool. Could use some black out curtains though, the sun comes right through.
The TV channels are plenty! And lots of english channels too!
Tim Hortons right across the road.
Parking is never an issue.
Would recommend for anyone driving through especially...
Read moreWell placed location right by the highway 55 on/off ramp and across the street from a Tim Hortons and a gas station with a depanneur (like a 7/11) in it. Continental breakfast could be better, it had no scrambled eggs - only hard boiled - and the breakfast preparing area where you go to collect the food is small and cramped. It has two working waffle makers and fresh juice, milk, yogurt, bread and bagels, cereal and coffee - no decaf but there is decaf in the bedroom with a small coffee maker. Note that unfortunately there weren't any pastries (viennoiseries) available. TV channels are quite limited to the basic cable TV offering but for the amount of time you're using the TV it's fine. I did not connect to their wi-fi (for security reasons I avoid hotel wi-fi and so should you...) but I'm told it was fine. One major flaw for me was that it was impossible to set the AC so that even if the AC was on an off cycle the fan would stay on. The alternating silence and AC noise woke me up several times in the night. I normally set the AC to something around 20~22°C and switch the fan to ON from AUTO. However despite that it's a perfectly acceptable lodging although - like most hotels - it has become quite pricey in the...
