I am writing you regarding an awful experience I suffered at JJ Bean Cafes. They have several locations in the lower mainland. I was a customer at the Alberni location which I assumed was how all their cafes were. However when I walked into the Yaletown location I was encountered by a bunch of thugs.
Many of them wore offensive shirts that promote violent and hateful rock and roll groups. But if that was it I would not have wrote to you. This cafe was playing Pink Floyds dark side of the moon. Which I hope you are aware that millions of people find them offensive especially proactive parents and Christians.
If you use any dictionary to look up the word “bugger” you'll find that it means a homosexual. Pink Floyd calls God a homosexual. Which many find offensive!! Pink Floyd says that they're going to learn karate and rise up to “make the buggers eyes water.” Pink Floyd ridicules God's authority and omnipotent power, mocking the 23rd Psalm by saying that God butchers His sheep into lamb's cutlets and hangs them in high places. I have cut and...
Read moreThe harried, Powell St. location baristess banished me from the restroom claiming I'm "not a customer".After appreciatively purchasing many savoury breakfast burritos, delicious muffins, rich, piping hot Americanos and raving about JJ Bean's high quality to anyone who'd listen and spending hundreds of dollars and tipping generously at the Powell St.and 6th Ave locations over the years, I was somewhat dismayed and hurt. One particular busy, early morning after using the restroom to wash my hands, the lineup was quite long. Not wanting to be late for work, I had to exit. I'm speculating the baristess assumed I was not a "real" customer. Perhaps I'll take my hard earned dollars to Starbucks where they are taught not to insult and embarrass customers for using the restroom. There must be a reason they earn millions of dollars of revenue all over the world!,ya think?🤔 With all that said, she's one hard working...
Read moreMy favourite drink here is one that is slated to be discontinued at some point, so I’m enjoying it while I can - pink beet latte with almond milk and no sweetener.
Or on occasions, an espresso instead! Occasionally Glory juices, they are expensive but worth it, my favourite is the #1.
For pastries, fresh every day, even several times a day! For myself the power puck, 2 or 3 of them when I go hiking (in ziplock bags so that bears don’t smell them). For my family, muffins (morning glory, chocolate walnut zucchini), 3 types of croissants.
They have usually one gluten free muffin choice, though the flavour changes.
If you want croissants early in the morning (6:30am to 7am), the Park and Tilford JJ Bean is a good option, place your order 24 hours before if your order will be big.
Parking can be tricky, there’s always a spot driving up Victoria on the right a few...
