Today was my Birthday and my sister took me over there to enjoy the day and have a nice coffee at our favourite coffee shop, Blenz . While we were sitting , we noticed a terrible noise and splashes , it was an older man fell down with his coffees and hit the chairs and tables in very bad way , he was on his knees we moved aside to give him room , others came over to help , then Stephane the main lady that was behind the counter came over , from the first seconds she was in control of the situation, first she talk to the man to see he is alert , asked him if he needs an Ambulance, he said no , just needs to lay down. We gave him some thing to lay his head on it, then she asked him something, the injured man said , you know First Aid, Stephane Replied yes, then she was taking over , checking his head for any injuries, or bleeding, also she asked if he’s having any pain or any other symptoms, he said no just need to lay down for a bit, then he wanted to walk to his car, she didn’t agreed asked if she can call someone to company him, she herself made the phone calls, meanwhile I could see she was looking over her staff and the new customers, to see everything under control. The man got up and sat on a chair she offered coffee , then one of the staff came over and cleaned the mass off the split coffees, after the man left with his wife, Stephane came over and thanked who ever was involved in helping the situation. I am an older woman and the way I saw this young strong thoughtful and knowledgeable young woman I was impressed, she will make one responsible , careful , thoughtful and calm staff wherever she goes. I am so please to get to know this young lady . I give her 💯 , if it comes to marks. Thank you for reading my long note....
Read moreThis was my first and last time at Blenz. The iced tea was overpriced, and PUMPED full of sugar, absolutely disgusting.
What was even worse was the rude barista. My partner cannot have dairy or eggs and we asked the barista working about the ingredients of the cinnamon buns, as there was a small sign that stated there were 'no animal fats' and 'no eggs' in the product thus suggesting they were vegan. Upon enquiring, the barista looked really annoyed and quickly said "Um I don't know??" Next, he spoke rudely to my partner, saying "why do you even care?? It's all just food, why don't you just eat it??" in a belittling tone. He looked offended that we even asked.
I don't think it's a barista's position to disrespect someone else's dietary restrictions. He was not helpful in the slightest and only served to make my partner and I feel really unwelcome in the establishment.
When we asked for the baristas name, he scoffed at us and said that he goes by "many names" including "Satan and Lucifer." I hardly think this is appropriate or professional. To many, this could be considered childish and offensive.
Spending over $8 here was the biggest waste of my day. Take my advice and go to the Starbucks down the road instead.
If was the owner of this company/location, this worker would be a massive...
Read moreCame in today while waiting for the ferry and I’ve decided this will be the last time I do. When I am waiting for the ferry, it is nice to sit somewhere with a drink, that isn’t the waiting room and the location makes this Blenz a convenient place to do so. In previous visits, I have been ignored by staff, had poorly made, unsatisfying drinks, I’ve been asked to leave 15 minutes before closing and watched the employee lock the door before their scheduled close time. Not to mention Barista’s yelling out orders in your face when you retrieve your drink from the counter. Today was the final straw after listening to a rather unprofessional, uncomfortable and loud conversation between two employees while they were on the floor, making drinks for a busy café. I have worked in more than one café and I understand that it gets busy, but trading passive aggressive statements back and forth about working a shift and who’s responsibility it is to cover it, is not appropriate. Not only for the privacy and safety of the employee whose shift is being discussed, but also purely regarding professionalism, this conversation takes place off the floor, away from customers. Really awkward to overhear and takes focus away from what you’re doing which can result in mistakes and...
