This is a gem in Horseshoe Bay. It begins with the staff, they're super friendly and very accommodating. We had our puppy with us, she was able to join us on the outside patio. Without asking, our server brought some water for the puppy. The outside seating is great, lots of space between the cute little pods/cubbies, it's such a lovely atmosphere. What's a restaurant if the food isn't good? Well, our meals were great. My daughter had the fish and chips, which she devoured, ending with a proclamation that it was just about the best she's had. I had the Thai Beef Panang Curry and it was delicious, the meat was really tender and the veggies & rice were great. My reaction was simple, it was the meal I didn't know I needed today. We're very satisfied with our visit today, thanks Oliver & Anchor! Update: been a second time and it was as great as the first time. This time we got to try the fish tacos, roasted mushroom soup, burger and of course some fish and chips again. Service was wonderful and everything was smooth with our puppy again.

Very cute restaurant that we stopped by for a quick bite while waiting for our ferry ride to the Sunshine Coast. The decor inside is unique and gives an old school ship feel! Nice clear barriers between each table which were clearly custom made for the restaurant. I love the alert button that is located on each table because it made ordering or getting the attention of a server easy. Everything on the menu sounded so delicious. I would have ordered more but because I'm going through an upper reflux episode, I opted for the clam chowder and a side of Caesar salad. The salad was a decent size for a side, and the clam chowder so good! My boyfriend ordered the bulgogi beef dog and a salad. The only thing that we would change are the hand dryers in the bathroom. They currently have a metal water catch bin underneath but the air from the hand dryer is so strong, it makes the old dirty collected water fly all over you and your once clean hands. Will definitely stop by again though the next time we take the ferry :)

Came in early Saturday morning after a photoshoot and decided to stop by the area for brunch where we found this place. Walking into the restaurant we were surprised on how quaint and neat the interior was - it set out a good vibe accompanying the priceless view out to Horseshoe Bay. The brunch menu was pretty simple, and I think it was reflected in the quality of the food that we ordered. I had the West Coast Benny, which was served on what I believe to be a gluten-free croissant with some avocado and salmon which was an interesting mix to a traditional eggs Benedict. It was quite tasteful and came with a few slices of fruit that were so good that we had to order more on the side. Walking by this restaurant one would think the menu could be pricy but dishes are priced like a standard cafe which was very unexpected. The waitresses were great and kept checking in on us, not just asking how our food was but genuinely conversing with us. Overall the service and experience was really great.

Don’t know why this place has 4.4 stars. This is hands down the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to. Like, I’ve been to “bad” restaurants before but I’d still say they were mid and just not my vibe. This one however, was just straight up so bad. The food was bad, the service was bad, the restaurant atmosphere was bad, the bathrooms were horrible, the staff was bad. Everything bad.

When we walked in, the restaurant had maybe 2 tables, and the staff didn’t even notice that we walked in. When we finally got seated, they took forever to bring up menus and water. When new customers started coming in, the same thing happened. At one point, they seated a new table and the customers waited probably 15 minutes before they got a menu or water lol I watched as they got visibly annoyed and debated walking out.

Our food was gross, dry, and cold which for the record, we saw was ready at the kitchen window for probably 10 minutes while the wait staff just sat around and didn’t bring the food to the table. How did they not notice that food was ready? I don’t know. Why did the kitchen not say anything? I don’t know.

After eating, tried to pay for a solid hour while at first it was just waiting for a worker to walk by, I don’t know where they all disappeared to but they were gone lol. And then we finally asked for the bill &machine, they took SO long and then only brought the bill. So we decided it’s fine, we’ll just pay cash to hurry it up. Our meal was maybe about $60, I put down a $100 bill. Again, all staff disappeared. When I finally tracked down one of the waiters, I gave him the bill and the money. For some reason he had the nerve to ask me “do you want change?” I said “yes.” He proceeded to ask me “exactly how much change do you want back?” Uhhh I don’t know, ALL OF IT?? Like …I’ll decide the tip after once you bring me MY change. Who does that? So weird.

And don’t get me started on their tiny gross bathroom. It was just gross. And for some reason they say that their hot water is overused so we can’t use it? lol?

Anyway, just don’t bother going here. The owners seems nice and smart, they should rebrand, get a new more authentic menu, and hire...

One of the Worst Dining Experiences I’ve Ever Had

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this restaurant truly left me stunned—in the worst way. From the moment we walked in, the service was disappointing. We were seated at a terrible table despite the restaurant being practically empty. When I politely asked if we could move, the server told us that all other tables were reserved. That would have been understandable if the place wasn’t still empty an hour and a half later.

Throughout the meal, the service continued to be shockingly bad. They brought out our food without clearing the dirty dishes, leaving us to awkwardly stack them and repeatedly ask someone to take them away. It took ages for anyone to fill our water glasses, and they never refilled them unless we asked—every single time.

We ordered based on recommendations from our server, Alexa, who told us the meals came with a choice of fries or salad. What she failed to mention was that choosing a salad instead of fries would cost an extra $3–4 per plate. When I asked to speak with the manager about the unexpected upcharges, her response was unprofessional and dismissive. She admitted the mistake was on their part, but said that if she removed the charge, she’d have to pay for it out of her own pocket—which felt like a guilt trip rather than customer service.

To top it all off, the menus were disgustingly dirty, and the staff was generally cold and rude.

Overall, this was hands down the worst service I’ve ever received in a restaurant. With so many great places to eat, I strongly recommend you go literally...

This place is a hidden gem. We were famished and on our way back to Vancouver. The restaurant faces the bay and is easy to find. Parking is a bit hard though. There is parking in the back but there is not a lot of space. So nab a street parking if possible.

The reason why there isn’t pictures of food was because it was yummy! We had cioppino, bimbimbap, fish and chips, and Korean fried chicken.

Fish and Chips was excellent. The batter was thin and crispy. It coated the fish perfectly. The fish itself was light and fluffy.

Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) is authentic. It isn’t the gigantic American kind. All fried to a crisp then tossed into a sweet and spicy sauce and cashews. Would recommend.

Bimbimbap was yummy. Especially this looked like a pub walking in. It was surprising. Not too spicy. There was a good variety of veggies and meat in the pot.

The cioppino was probably the only thing I would not order again. Maybe because I am spoiled from the cioppino from SF. I had expected a mound of seafood and some sort of crab. But the seafood barely broke the surface of the soup. It is also the first time I had pasta cooked in the soup. I would have like to see fresh plump seafood, but then again, it may be a SF thing. Try it, but would not be my first pick again if you are used to big mounds of seafood. Comes with a side of bread that is very dippable in the broth.

The servers were quick to order and clear plates off. Amicable as well.

Definitely would go back if I am ever in...
