The Rendezvous — Restaurant in Whistler Resort Municipality

Good eats, amazing views on Blackcomb. Rendezvous Lodge was a perfect stop with jaw-dropping views for a snack on our visit to Whistler Blackcomb. We rode the Peak to Peak from Whistler then hiked some of the amazing trails around the lodge; we worked up an appetite from the hiking so decided to get a snack at Rendezvous. While similar to the Roundhouse on Whistler, I felt like Rendezvous was a nicer facility. This cafeteria-style restaurant sits in the lodge right off the incredible Peak to Peak Gondola. The restaurant offers a wide variety of food styles including noodles, rice, burritos, tacos, burgers, an espresso bar, and more. The young staff were friendly and efficient. We visited during the summer; the facility was busy with hikers and the some late-season skiers, but the facility wasn’t crowded. Overall, we were very happy with the quality, variety, and cost of the food and cleanliness of the facility—the value and the views were fantastic. There’s plenty of indoor seating—we didn’t check out the outdoor seating since we needed to rest out of the sun from our hiking. There is a restaurant adjacent to the cafeteria area, but the Rendezvous was a fine choice if you want to get some food and drink and sit at the table staring out over the stunning mountain landscapes. Extremely rude staff experience. I am usually ok with the expensive food because it has in the past been delicious and I understand that running a kitchen on the mountain requires additional considerations. However, when having lunch recently, the food was sub par for our whole party of 8. Fries in the chili fries (which cost $17) had been sitting out for a very long time before being served and were stale/crunchy. When I asked for a replacement order, I was rudely told that they were freshly made and I was wrong. When I told them that this was impossible because they had served me the last scoop of fries, I was essentially called a liar. Really put me off, especially given the $17 price tag for fries and chili! Very...
