UPDATE*, still not a fan. They’ve moved to a new location. Secured a beautiful new wood burning oven which hopefully will give the otherwise bland pizza some flavor. Unfortunately the new place place looks sloppy and dirty inside. It’s a downgrade compared to his old place which had better ambiance although that’s stretching it. They have donuts out in front under glass which clearly holds the heat from the pizza oven. The donut icing was melting nicely I might add. We bought donuts and pastries. Donuts were DRY. Pastries weren’t fresh. There was no sign of bread, bagels or croissants and it’s doubtful they make any of that there. I only saw a pizza oven, and no commercial ovens or mixers or an area where they could possibly make such fare. The kitchen area is unkempt and open. I would never dine in. They have a puny hot table I wouldn’t waste my time on and Saran wrapped sandwiches for on the go. Unfortunately it’s still a huge disappointment.
Nope, not a fan. We ordered a pizza and arancini. Both were terrible. The pizza was undercooked even though we requested well done. We literally ate one slice each (I barely got that down) and threw the rest out. The arancini had very little sauce and cheese inside and they were overcooked. They were tasteless as well. With our Italian roots and having eaten our way through Italy, we were excited for what we thought would be authentic Italian pizza. This is not it. Although the owner himself is also Italian, it doesn’t mean he can make a good pizza. Take a pass and try...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING! The owner of the store is so friendly and genuine, and makes the freshest and best pizza and desserts I have had in a long time! He made me a vegetarian pizza, off menu, and you could just tell it's all freshly cut vegetables, good quality, and he rolls the dough for the pizza right in front of you. I ate a lot more than I should have cause it was just too good. The basil looked freshly picked even! He was so kind, while I was waiting he gave me a dessert to try cause I was asking lots of questions as a new customer - I wish I knew the name of it, but it was a coffee flavoured one, was so tasty, and a perfect balance of sweetness and decadence. He really treats his customers well, is all about good food, sharing and delivering quality. I travelled an hour from downtown for the pizza, it's highly worth it! He also does a lot of donations and charity work, so I think it's great supporting him the store since they pay...
Read moreWas waiting for husband to get haircut and saw the good reviews so wanted to try their donuts. Someone else before me got a dozen small sugar donuts for $18, so I decided to ask for half a dozen. The lady who helped me said it would be $15 for half a dozen. I paid and she went off to serve someone else, not getting me any donuts. Then another group beside me got half a dozen and the guy who served them said it would be $9. Confused, I asked the lady again and she said it was $2.50/ea. I asked the same guy server and he told me $9 for half a dozen. I told him I had already paid $15 to the lady server and he quickly asked her to give me back the change. Maybe it was just a miscommunication between the two servers but this didn't leave a good first impression. The fresh donuts were okay, but probably won't make a trip here...
