Shawarma Queenz — Restaurant in Whitchurch-Stouffville

Finally, a spot to satisfy our falafel and shawarma cravings! It's worth mentioning they have good business hours (compared to the places nearby).

My first experience here was amazing! Boss lady (?) was friendly and understanding of my vegan ask. I ordered the falafel wrap and fries. The falafel shawarma hit the spot but I was a bit disappointed with the fries portion for $6. That's okay because their specialty is shawarma so I'm not taking this into account. Jay loved their chicken shawarma plate (comes with a "set salad" of lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, rice, home cubed potatoes and the protein) - of course you have the option to add hummus, tahini and hot sauce.

We came back a week later, and Jay ordered the same. He enjoyed the chicken shawarma plate once again. I was influenced and bought the falafel plate but it just didn't hit the spot the falafel wrap did. I think this is because the plate options are basic (see photo, the turnips were an extra). Don't get me wrong, the rice and potatoes taste good on their own. No fault of the owners, it's my preference to eat the falafel, rice and potatoes with all the vegetable toppings - it's just too dry and basic without "the works".

This is from an Uber order, the rating is based purely on the food. It's only fair to give people the truth when it comes to take out orders since it costs so much money.

I ordered one steak and rice and a mixed plate and rice dinner.

Taste: subpar. It is very bland and lacks the right spice notes to give some sense of authenticity. The salad lacked any dressing at all. For those of you who buy this type of food regularly, it does not hit the notes you come to expect for some side fresh veg. The lettuce was cut very thickly. I will say the pickled turnips were refreshing. The potatoes were fair as well. Everything needed salt. Slopping on sauce like Osmow's isn't going to solve bland if the dressings are also bland.

Value: the steak serving was lacking. I'd equate it to perhaps 100g of protein. Considering the price it wasn't every satisfying over all. We ordered an additional portion of kebab, which turned out to be some lightly seasoned chicken thigh or breast at almost 7 dollars - was paltry.

Went in this evening to try this place out and meet the queen. The queen was unavailable lol. I met the daughter and uncle who were both there and we’re extremely friendly, kind and put out a super product. While the daughter was in the front serving guests with a smile, prepping meals and seems very happy to be doing what she is doing the uncle was in the back, doing kitchen prep and cleaning everything after every single use keeping it nice and immaculate. I highly recommend this place, I brought my meal home and the food was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken Shawarma wrap combo. I Definitely will be going back to this place snd highly recommend everyone in town give it a try.
