MeMe's Cafe and Food Shop — Restaurant in Wilmot

Meredith is one of those rare proprietors who truly understands the cafe business. The quality of the coffee and food is far beyond what one would expect of any higher end cafe this side of Paris. Her care, consideration, and pride are reflected in conversation but also in what is offered. In my case possibly the best sausage roll I have ever had. Flaky pastry, generous bratwurst, and a hint of mustard, made me think such things could in fact be gourmet. It was made in store, still warm from her own oven. This followed with a drip darkroast that I swear is better than any americano I regularly swill all over the GTA. The ambiance and tranquility of Meredith's shop, the abundance of baked goods and timelessness of small town ontario conspired to win my heart. You MUST stop here, say hi and enjoy some of what coffee culture is supposed...

First off, totally warm and welcoming. It's the kind of place where you instantly feel at home, whether you're a regular or a newbie. Merideth is always smiling, super friendly, and genuinely loves what she does. That kind of energy is infectious! The food is fresh ingredients, cooked to perfection, and bursting with flavor. Their scones are addictive. Plus, their cafe mocha is the real deal. But what really puts Meme's Cafe over the top is the little touches. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into every detail, from the cozy decor to the thoughtfully crafted menu. It's the kind of place that just makes you happy. Honestly, I can't recommend Meme's Cafe enough. It's more than just a cafe; it's a little slice of happiness in New Hamburg. Five stars all...

Lovely restaurant, cozy and inviting. There were lots and lots of items on the menu. My friend had soup and she loved it. Great portion size, had to take some home for dinner. I did not fare so well. Due to my allergies I had a hard time finding something I could eat. Everything I picked had something that I might have problems with... like the deli meat, which I can't have due to sulphites.... being so far from home, I didn't want to have an allergic reaction. My difficulty in making a decision seemed to annoy the staff member so I finally decided on a steak and cheese sandwich and date square. Seemed safe enough, but no... I was grabbing for a benadryl within 1/2 hr of eating. If you have no food issues it is a great place to eat, if you do have food...
