Let me just say this: Del Rios Restaurant in Winkler is a total gem — the kind of place that makes your taste buds throw a party and your heart feel like it’s come home. They serve up an absolutely wonderful selection of both Mennonite and Mexican dishes, and every single item on the menu is packed with flavor, cooked to perfection, and worth its weight in gold. Whether you're in the mood for something hearty and home-style or bold and full of spice, Del Rios delivers — and then some. From savory Mennonite classics to sizzling Mexican favorites, it’s hard to go wrong here. Every bite tastes like it was made with love and passed down through generations — because honestly, it probably was. Pro tip: Don't skip the soup. I know, I know, soup can sound like the “safe” choice — but here? It’s a flavor bomb in a bowl. And when you’re done? Make room for dessert. Their desserts are homemade, comforting, and the perfect sweet ending to a seriously satisfying meal. Whether you're local to Winkler or just passing through, Del Rios is one of those rare places that feels like a warm hug and tastes like pure magic. Trust me — once you eat here, you’ll be back. Again and again.

Not a real Mexican restaurant. The decor is very bland. I had the Mexi Burrito, and did not see any sour cream or avocado that is stated in the menu. In our group 3 of us had the same item, the next day all 3 of us had upset stomachs. The best description I can come up with is "Mennonite fusion", was hoping for something fun and unique, but ended up with something I could have made better at home and not felt like an Old El Paso kit.

Amazing customer service, friendly greetings and our server was very attentive. I ordered the Taco Platter which left no room for dessert - next time. I would have loved a bit more meat in the tacos but other than that, no complaints.

If you’re looking for real Mexican food this isn’t the place to go. Service isn’t their strength. We have some issues with the service. Asked for a limon wedge and they told me they run out of them, however, few mins after they brought a couple of them for another table 🤷🏻‍♀️, after getting the bill we noticed the waitress missed to charge us for lemonade so we asked her to re-do the bill, she brought us the new bill and we left cash for the entire bill plus tips, we were heading to the parking lot and the waitress shout it “hey you have to pay the bill” (several customer look at us) we told the waitress that we left the cash in the table then she kept saying “you have to pay for the bill” so I went inside and I showed her where the cash payment was and waitress didn't even said sorry or looked sorry for the embarrassing moment she made us go through. Owner really needs to re-train...

After a couple years of not eating here I figured I'd give it another chance. And I was surprisingly happy. Their pies are very good the food which used to be tasteless has been improved. The owner still isn't smiling greeting people. I can understand a bad day but he has some great staff. Over all the place needs a bit more work with staff and kitchen could use a few pointers. For instance they use to much Clove. There cream gravy and models dishes was dry. And they have cut down there portions. But they are willing to do better and for that I must recommend to eat here but if you have a problem with staff or food you tell them. They are good people and stood up for rights of Canadians so I support what...
