Having driven past this restaurant numerous times i was always curious about the food but could never find anyone that had actually eaten at the establishment. Well my hunger got the better part of me today as i was driving past and notice a sign advertising 2 cheeseburgers, 2 canned drinks and 1 order of french fries for $14.95. Well it wasnt the cheapest i have seen but again i was hungry. There was plenty of parking available despite it being lunch time...hmmmm. Walking in the place was clean and offered a great view of the grill area. I placed my order for the advertised special and waited. The menu shows plenty of Greek specials which had me excited as i have never been let down by a greek burger joint. My order was ready in under 10 minutes and instead of eating in i chose to bring it to my work a short 2 minute drive away. Setting down into the french fries i found the taste great as well as the texture. A little on the small side portion wise for this special but with the taste being there i was willing to let that go and excited to dive into my cheeseburger. Well burger fans that enthusiasm was short lived. Possibly one of the worst burgers i have had in a long long time. The bun was the star of the burger since it tasted ok and held up well to the chili on the burger. The burger patty however is clearly preformed frozen patties from who knows where. Either the chili or rje patty had a taste that made it inpossible to finish. Thinking it was just the first burger i tried the second one. Nope. Same odd taste and even worse after taste. And lets talk about the cheese...well judge for yourself if you call that cheese. A picture is worth a thousand words. Bottom line is i ate the fries...suffered through half of each burger..but thankfully had 2 cans of pop to wash away the aweful taste left in my mouth. Burgers from Dal's, White Top or Superboys have no competition here. If you're hungry for a burger you would be better off going...
Read moreI have been going to A&V for 10+ years. I was hosting my wife's 50 birthday and choose A&V to cater the event for 30 people. I reached out to Vicky and Angelo and we decided on Greek Rice, Potatos, Chicken Silvocki, Greek Salad and Pitas as the main course.
The food was absolutely spot on and hot. It was a great choice as we had a few guests that were gluten free and another with a nut allergy. Our guests loved the food and everyone was asking where it was from.
I would strongly recommend A&V Drive in!
Support local and support this wonderful restaurant. They moved 1 year ago into the Fort Rouge Curling Club on Daly. Might seem unorthodox but go for lunch or breakfast and meet Vicky and Angelo. There catering options are not on their daily menu so take time and speak with Vicky. These two are salt of the earth people who cook with real ingredients and not heavy on the salt.
10/10 catering experience and well worth the...
Read moreThis is a gem of a place. I've been coming here for years. The owners (who do all of the cooking) are super friendly and seem to know just about everyone who walks through the doors.
I'm all about the fat boys here. This is my first choice for getting a fat boy. Homemade patties, delicious chili, and good pickles. Good pickles are underrated because a bad pickle can really mess up a burger. Perfect bun to patty ratio. Some places give you a massive bun and fluff it with lettuce to trick you into thinking that you're getting a massive burger. Not here, just good sized tasty burger.
When I work nights and get off work I don't want breakfast food. A and V will make me a fat boy at 7am as long as they...
