This week we went to this store to order their promotions for a $5 + meal. We want to try it because it is cheap and to save money but this is not what happened to us.
Aug 17 around 1-2 am. We ordered this $5+ promotion thing with drinks, burger and fries. When we are @ the driver thru ordering we noticed on the screen the total price is not the same with the promotion price then when we asked the staff why it is a dollar higher she said I upgraded your drinks to M/L?" the cashier is deciding for the customer to upgrade the drinks or fries without asking - sounds like a scam to me. After we asked her to leave it all as regular then we thought everything was corrected properly in our orders but after we left and checked the receipt and our orders we found out that she still upgraded the drinks and fries the other 2 orders without asking which is super annoying.
As an experienced customer service and cashier in a fast food chain like this I know that we should ask the customer or make a suggestion(SS) to upgrade the fries or drinks to increase the sales not just adding it without the customer knowing it. Also I am not a racist but this is not the first time we had a bad experience in this location with the same nationality (First one is manager).
To cut the story short, we ended up paying more instead of saving a couple of bucks by ordering their promotions so for the other customers that are going to order in these location please make sure to always double check your receipt or check the price and compare it on the screen before leaving the cashier to avoid this kind of scam.
I hope that the management or owner of this store is aware of what is happening as this is giving a bad impact to the store. McDonald's is one of the famous fast food chain industries in terms of foods, CUSTOMER SERVICE...

The staff asked us to do it in side the store instead of drive thru as they can only do 2 per transaction. Just to make it more sense we do in-store purchase to avail this free coupon. When we get into the store the rude manager approach me and saying we cannot use the 5 coupon as they can only do 2 per transaction. I told him we are 5 people here in the store so it will be per transaction as written at the back of the coupon. This scammmer manager(Jan 20, 2024 around 4pm- I forgot to get his name coz im super frustrated with his service) doesnt want us to do the transaction without purchasing anything which is not written in the coupon. So I decided to buy 1 large fries but this manager say" you need to purchase something per coupon" all I can say is "WOW" it feels like we got scammed. He keeps on talking that he knows everything about the coupon and arguing with me and keep on talking while the customer is talking.(poor customer service as a manager). So what we did as I am with the seniors ages 54 to 60 stepped down from the car on a super cold weather just to avail the free coupon that we got is I bought 5 fries just to get the transaction done. Doesn't matter what time of the day or how busy, pull around the corner and wait for 10 - 15 minutes. Save time and headache by going to portage location 3 blocks away
Update: 13 Oct 22 - more delays ... more pull around the corner and wait for your 1 item. Get to watch through the window as my order is boxed and left to sit and wait. Watch the kitchen staff laugh and joke. Order finally comes out and worker goes to the wrong car, gives them my order ... comes over gives me their order, which isn't even a third of the price. Go back to the store and the say "whoops" wait another 20 minutes for a new order. Asked to speak to the manager ... whom couldn't keep from smiling and giggling. Being completely oblivious to anything that was going on. Went back to the back and talked about me while I waited for my order. No offer of a refund, nothing. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
