Very nice, although somewhat standard in format. No surprises. Went for lunch with 2 others. I tried the lunch fingers, we also had the veggie pita and a chicken soulvaki platter. Only had coffee for drinks. Generous portions, the lunch platters ( about $15.00) come with soup, abd/or salad and starch and both sent home leftovers for another meal The pita was on its own but was a sufficient size for a good lunch the water reported it was pleasantly spicy, not burning but enough zing to be interesting. 1 Chicken skewer was a lot of meat, more than 4 oz for sure, on a bed of rice with veggies on the side. Well flavoured, cooked just right and served hot. My chicken fingers were a good solid example of the dish. Nice dipping sauce and 3 large pieces with a big green salad with feta and tomatoes (they call it Greek salad, but it was mostly lettuce, a "Canadian Greek salad" then) lots of fries. As I said, I took home 1/3 in a doggie bag. The standard lemon chicken rice soup was nice, they also had a lamb based souptill a lot of lemon but really tasty. Prices are not cheap, but not exorbitant either and the gave value for money. Nice place for lunch, on the list for a dinner visit, but really a local watering hole. I wouldn't go out if the way to eat here, but it's a great place if I'm in the neighborhood and and feeling hungry.

Not as good as I hoped. I doubt I’ll be returning anytime soon. Pros: Attentive service. Nice people. Busy but not crowded. Potatoes and mushrooms tasted fresh. Hummus and pita were very good although ready immediately. How fresh is the Hummus. Cons: Clearly all vegetables were from a frozen grocery store package. I’d know. All patrons (I counted perhaps 15-20) were over the age of 55. This is a con because the neighborhood is changing dramatically in the next decade. Be prepared. I am not confident that the salmon was not from frozen as well. The beer menu is very limited. Fort Gary is not local. Carry TCB, Non Such, Torque, Sookram etc. The people procuring and preparing the ingredients at this restaurant do not appear focused on healthful whole foods. Just my opinion. Lacking in love. Also: They serve breakfast but don’t open until late. No espresso machine. What a miss in revenue and business. They close at 830pm. Catering to seniors. It is so easy to look at a map of Charleswood to see there is only *one other place* for many kilometres in the south west to go have a drink. Stay open until 10 or 11, and pick up some good beers, you’ll be happy you did with the changing demographic. Good luck !

05/10/2023 This place is exceptional to say the least. We went for Le Burger week in Winnipeg. We each had a burger but upgraded one to a platter. With the platter we had 1/2 Greek salad and 1/2 fries which we split. We had made a reservation (6:15) there was no waiting even though the restaurant seemed quite busy. The burger was beyond compare! OMGosh the Greek salad was from another planet 🌎 and the fries were very good. One other thing I noticed was they brought vinegar to the table. This has only happened at one other restaurant we have been to. The service very good and it was very nice to go to a restaurant and you are not bugged all the time with questions. We were asked once how the meal was and again if we would like anything else. We both really like this type of service where you are able to enjoy the food and talk. We were only able to finish one burger. Already looking forward to lunch tomorrow and splitting the burger. The price I would say is inline with other restaurants offered during Le Burger week. 180 restaurants to choose from. We will definitely go back again to try the regular menu. Our view is that this a MUST place to go! HINT: We suggest making a reservation. Enjoy!!

First time visiting the restaurant...not too impressed with the overall experience. Very clean restaurant and the food was fantastic - large portions and decent prices. However the service was just so-so. The hostess gestured towards our table, and did not properly seat us. She also did not give us the specials or take our drink orders at that time. When our server took our order, we heard about the specials then - if you want to promote the specials, tell your clients before they have a look at the menu. Our server had zero personality and did not interact with us or even offer us a refill on our drinks! We were offered take out boxes when we were only halfway through our meals, and we were offered dessert twice at the end of the meal. It felt more like the orders were more important than creating an experience for the customer. Our server also got upset when we placed a pepper shaker on the empty table that was beside us (she said that they could get a $2500 fine because the pepper shaker would have been closer than 6 feet from another table - I don’t think that was necessary!) There were also random shower curtains hung up to divide sections due to Covid restrictions to separate tables- very tacky, and took away from the ambiance. I think this would be a fantastic place to go if we had felt welcome and special but unfortunately we...

Absolutely spectacular. I ordered the Steak Sandwich for lunch and was blown away by how much food I got!

You get a soup or salad, your choice of potatoes, veggies, and MUSHROOMS!! The mushrooms were delicious (so savoury) and piping hot (which was a pleasant surprise for takeout!)

I showed up a bit early but they promptly found my order, and got it packaged up. Service was extremely polite, chipper, and top notch, a pleasant experience during Covid with all of us feeling so down and tired.

The food itself was absolutely amazing. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection and was at home on top of the garlic bread. The mushrooms as I had mentioned were amazing and the veggies were fresh cooked green beans and were delicious. But the real star of the meal was the Lemon Potatoes. O.M.G. they were perfectly coloured, favoured, and were at the melt in your mouth consistency. Far better than the Lemon Potatoes at any other restaurant I have visited and put the Lemon Potatoes from Santa Lucia to shame.

All in all it was an amazing meal and far beyond what I had expected.

If you find yourself in Charleswood looking for a hole in the wall hidden gem of the neighborhood, this is the stop for you.

Thanks to Michael for the recommendation after working at his business all day.

YOU HAVE GOT...
