I have never been so Humiliated by a restaurant ever in my Life. I’ve been ordering from this place for three years now . I spend on average, $300 a month . I placed a simple order today. I specifically asked for peanuts on the chicken pad Thai and no peanuts on the beef pad Thai . Well the word was wrong I had no peanuts whatsoever. Then when I called back because it took me a while to go drive there and come home and To realize they made my order wrong . What disturbs me the most about this place now, Is when I was talking to them about my complaint, they were Laughing at me on the phone as I was telling them of there mistake. I could not believe how disrespectful, In belittling me, Laughing while I’m discussing how they are going to delivered to me the peanuts that weren’t on my order. It was so upsetting to me that I decided after Today. I will no longer do business With these horrible wicked Disrespectful and unprofessional Belittling They made me feel. Therefore , After today did you not deserve my business or any business from Anyone I know. I will never ever refer Again as a business that It’s so unprofessional and disrespectful . Even though the food could be great, I would settle for second-best in a heartbeat. Goodbye Horrible people . How dare you treat me this way, You should all be ashamed of yourselves after today for losing me as a loyal customer . You have lost almost an entire car payment on what I used to invest in your business every month . Stay away from these wicked disrespectful discriminating restaurant.

Question on Quora: Have you ever gone into a restaurant that looked unappealing from the outside but ended up having delicious food? If so, where and what did you order?

The proverbial hole in the wall, Vanxai Restaurant. But the Pad Thai is delicious. Worked in Asia for three years and got into their cuisine. On our trips to Thailand, we always ate Pad Thai and much of it was delicious but very inconsistent.

I thought my days of eating good Pad Thai were over until I bumped into this restaurant less than 1km from our condo. Unbelievable. Best Pad Thai we’ve ever had and it’s always good. Just the right amount of spice, perfect noodles, roasted peanuts and whether it’s pork, beef or shrimp…simply the best.

Drove by it for years and didn’t even know it existed. Now I can’t drive by without picking up a fresh order of Pad Thai to go.

Update: It's now been a couple of years since I wrote this review. And anyone who eats consistently at the same restaurant can attest that some days are better than others. This is NOT the case with Vanxai. Still happy to report it's the best phad thai I've had in all my travels. Plus they're very fast which is good because once my order is placed my craving sets in. Within 10 - 15 minutes I've picked up my order and am probably digging in on the ride back to the condo. ...

This is our initial visit. Correction it was my initial visit but my girlfriend has been there before.

We ordered the fried chicken and the pad thai.

I gave them extra points because I really like the fact that it was dark meat with no bones on the inside. It was interesting how they took it out I left it kind of intact to fry. The chicken was moist on the inside and very very crispy on the outside

The pad thai I was very interesting. I really enjoyed the flavors because it reminded me of home. I question if regular pad Thai actually tastes like this because I think I would have made a bigger note of it? There was a ketchup like tomato paste flavor to it, which I do not remember from other pad Thai restaurants.

All-in-all I enjoyed myself a lot while I was here. Service was friendly but a bit absent. The setting is more of a 3-star setting though. However if you're coming here it's for the food and not the ambience. I did not pay, my girlfriend did, so I am unsure as to the pricing.
