Za Pizza Bistro Main st — Restaurant in Winnipeg

This is a tough rating for me. This is our favourite “fast food” restaurant. I am half way between two locations and have always chosen this location because I found they kept the topping area very clean with little contamination of toppings falling into other topics. But yesterday I noticed something that upset me. I entered the restaurant looking for hand sanitizer as we are still in a COVID crisis that requires us all to have good practices. None to be found. I asked the employees and was told none was available. Since the automatic “disability button” wasn’t working i had to push open the door I wanted to clean my hands. The. I noticed there were people sitting and eating in the restaurant just like old times but none of the tables were blocked off and the restaurant was full to capacity. I ordered my food and waited in an area where because of the dinner crowd social distancing was tough. I counted 28 customers in the space while I was there. NOT ACCEPTABLE! Call me a “Karen” but in a closed mall I have to hand sand my hand every time I enter a store and there are people counting entry. C’mon Zaaaa You can do better than this!!!! Don’t be part of the problem... help be a solution. The food is still a 5 star and staff are fantastic! But because of this lack of regard for public safety I have given a low rating. This was my first time coming here, it’s kind of like subway for pizza, but with an important difference. Pizza tasted great, but I wish the staff member would have told me that when I got a third topping (curious about pickles on pizza), the price was going to stay the same no matter how many more toppings after that. It’s my fault for not seeing the prices before ordering (they’re on the side wall half way between the entrance and front counter). I felt pretty ripped off watching them prepare a pizza that was covered in toppings and realizing that those 6 extra slices of pickle cost the same as that. The worker could have at least told me, “Now that you’ve added a third ingredient it’s no extra cost to add extra of any of these other toppings, if you’d like”. Disappointed with...

Quality has gone way down since new ownership. Decided to give them one last try yesterday by ordering from doordash, and when my pizza arrived the arugula on it was YELLOW. Do you know how old that stuff has to be to turn yellow? I know it's not from cooking it as I use arugula on my pizza at home all the time. It never turns yellow from heat. Initially I didnt notice as for some reason they put the cheese on top of the toppings, which they never used to do. I took one bite and something tasted bitter and absolutely foul. Thats when I lifted up the cheese and saw all the yellow slimey leaves. Some leaves were even spotted as if they had mold starting already. I almost gagged. Thankfully Doordash refunded the order.
