Grumpys Grill — Restaurant in Yorkton

Our experience at this restaurant today was just ugly! We experienced racism at it finest. We sat at the table for half an hour before the waitress helped us. She kept walking by like she didn’t see us. Now I know this because the other people before us were been served back and fourth. When I asked if we could get some service, drinks at least, the waitress said ok. We then placed our whole order at that time. Again we waited over a half an hour to get our food and drinks. Now at those point food was coming and going. Still no sign of ours. No communication from the waitress. People who were still coming in received their food before us. Finally we received our order, but only to bring it in all separately. When we were done eating the place was empty, and those people who came in after us were already gone too. When I went up to go pay, I asked the waitress “what had happened today”. She immediately got confrontational and raised her voice ant me and said “what are you insinuating”. I told her the service today was clearly racial profiling. She then blamed the cooking staff and when I asked why she didn’t come and explain to us about the wait she said “all restaurants are like this!” I told her “no, their not”. She then raised her voice at me again. She said “ok I’m sorry” all the while not even to left her head to look at me. I finally told her “how about you look at me when you apologize?” She couldn’t even do that as well. I told her “what happened here today shouldn’t have happened. Do better” and walked out. Now this isn’t the first time this has happened to us from the same woman. The first time we waited for her and again, she acted like she couldn’t see but she sure did see the other people coming in. We ended up leaving the restaurant that time. The only reason we went there and stayed today was because my daughter was so dead set about trying their food. But it sure will be the last! Dropped in on a Sunday morning heading back to Saskatoon from Winnipeg, saw reviews for best breakfast in Yorkton. We drove right past Humpty's for this place and I regret that decision.

Service was poor, we self sat at a table and waited nearly ten minutes before being acknowledged.

Had one cup of coffee, didn't ask for refills because it had kind of a musty or stale flavour, no amount of cream or sugar helped.

Food came out in less than ten minutes of ordering, so that's a plus...

Shredded hash browns were cold coming out on the other plate, my plate had a grand total of one cup of cubed hash browns.

The eggs for my girlfriend were ok, my western omelette had very little flavour.

I literally drove down the street after eating here and bought some Tim Hortons coffee and I'm not a fan of...

Passing through Yorkton. Looked for a family restaurant, not a chain, for lunch. The large parking lot was almost full. I walked in and sign said "seat yourself." Sat down and less than 30 seconds, a waitress greeted me and asked if I needed a menu. I replied, "What's the special.. within a minute, she returned with a large bowl full of homestyle chicken dumpling soup. I was scooping my last spoonful, and she was back with the special, huge plate of shrimp and fries/ ceasar salad. This is the best experience I've had in a couple years. Thanks! I'll be...
