My husband and I enjoy exploring various restaurants and cuisines, so we restaurant-hop quite a bit at fine dining establishments. However, this particular experience regrettably falls short of our expectations.

We made reservations at Guy Harvey's Restaurant for their advertised "all-you-can-eat lobster" and although we don't typically consider this venue for fine dining, the lobster special convinced us to give it a try.

The service was subpar, beginning with an excessive delay in receiving a simple glass of water. We received the glasses long before we received the water, which we had to ask for after waiting for a while.

Also, it was only after we sat down, ordered drinks and appetizers that we were informed that the lobster had run out. Deciding to stay turned out to be a regrettable choice.

When our alcoholic beverages finally arrived, they were overwhelmingly weak---they were practically juices because we had to wonder if they had even put alcohol in them.

While the appetizers – notably the bang bang shrimp and creamy mushroom toast – were acceptable, they could not salvage the overall experience. The shrimp was well-prepared and tasty, but the mushroom toast was slightly soggy compared to previous times I've had it.

Matters worsened when the waiter informed us that the kitchen was closing, creating an unnecessary sense of urgency that led us to hastily order our main course that we wouldn’t have otherwise chosen. He even stood there while we were trying to decide what we wanted to order, until I had to ask him to please give us a few minutes, especially as we did not intend to order our main course from the regular menu to start with.

In the end, my husband ordered a steak dinner and I ordered a mushroom pasta. My husband's steak was severely overcooked, requiring us to send it back, which we typically avoid doing. The replacement, which took another 10 minutes to receive, was marginally better, it arrived after I had already finished my meal, so we could not enjoy our meal together. I also ended up having to share some of my food with my husband as we were both hungry and he had to wait for his steal to be corrected. My mushroom pasta, although ok, was not that impressive.

We requested compensation for the poor service and food quality, which was met with some hesitance even though they acknowledged that they knew our experience was poor. Ultimately, the restaurant deducted the cost of the appetizers and offered us dessert, which we declined.

Another notable point of frustration was when a larger group, arriving after us, was not subjected to the same rushed treatment. Upon speaking with the manager, he suggested that it might had been miscommunication with our waiter, as the kitchen remained open longer than we were led to believe.

While we may consider returning for lunch, this dinner experience has convinced us not to dine here again in the evening. It was particularly disappointing for my husband, who hadn’t dined at the restaurant in over 10 years after a previous bad experience, only to have this experience reinforce his previous dissatisfaction.

In summary, this was one of the more disappointing dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The only highlights were the time we spent together and the quality of the...

This was the place that I was most excited about for eating! They had Lionfish on the menu and the restaurant was highly rated. I made reservations online. It all went through, but I never received a confirmation email.?? 3 days later I called to confirm that they actually had my reservation. They did not actually find my reservation, but they assured me that they had made the same reservations over the phone for the requested day and time. However, when we showed up for dinner we were rudely instructed that the restaurant was closed for a private party and they knew nothing about our reservations! They told us we could go downstairs to the bar that had the same menu as the restaurant. We did not want to, but because we had no other place we could go we did. The service at the bar was excellent. The food was okay. The manager from upstairs at the restaurant was very nice and came down to express his apologies twice & also offered us 1 free dessert. It was definitely a disappointment, but I'm sure it's probably better under other circumstances. And as bad as the experience was, the manager was very concerned and explained over and over about his...

My experiences at Guy Harvey's has been consistently excellent.

I've had numerous business lunches there and enjoyed dinner socially as well. Prices are moderate and in line with the experience, very good wait staff and ample parking is available.

My perception of the food is that while so many eateries offer most of the same featured items, the preparation and presentation at Guy is done so that you experience a truly individually prepared dish that allows the best flavors of the ingredients to stand out. It's clear that good thought and expertise is applied to the Guy menu as none if my choices were over seasoned, smothered in sauces, or crowded out with unnecessary condiments or "filler" vegetables / starches.

Guy Harvey's consistently delivers a consistently excellent dining experience in a tastefully relaxed dining atmosphere. Whether you dine inside or on the outdoor patio overlooking beautiful George Town Harbour, you should have a great experience.

Highly...

Great lunch at Guy Harvey's Boathouse! Made reservation a few weeks prior. However, since our cruise was the only ship in port that day, there was no need. Deck seating had a beautiful water view. It was a little hot out there on this day, so we moved inside. Crab cake & mussels appetizers were tasty. Blackened Mahi-Mahi sandwich with sweet potato fries cooked & seasoned perfectly. The highlight of our meal were the desserts! Rum cake with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce was divine. Banoffee pie in a jar is a perfect combination & creation of flavors. Service team are wonderful. Do keep in mind they are on "island time" not "city time" if that is what you're used to. Highly recommend for a port lunch after some shopping. Guy Harvey's store and gallery right next door, also close to mall outdoor area. Enjoy!

This was an accidental, but fortuitous find! Located above the White whale pub & ale, I didn’t notice it in google maps when looking for a nearby restaurant while we were shopping and touring the downtown area. We were able to walk right in at opening and get a corner seat overlooking the waterfront and streets below. The shade and breeze was perfect for keeping us cool. We enjoyed excellent service, refreshing Cayman Spritz’s, and delicious, well prepared lunch meals. You absolutely must try the Banoffee pie in a jar for dessert! Someone bottled a bit of heaven to serve up. 😋

Great food and service. Prices are reasonable for the island. Atmosphere is good. Lobster bisque is very delicious. Lobster mac and cheese was good but could be more creative. It's literally mac and cheese with lobster chunks. Lots of lobster in it. Still very delicious meal. Calamari was good. Also tried the tuna. Excellent flavor but the steak was a little over done for medium.
