We first came to this Sharkeez on a cruise last year and stopped in on our way back to the ship. This time we flew in and we had a taxi take us from the airport (had to wait on friends). On the cruise trip we had one bartender, George. On our stop from the airport, there was George. So, on a windy Sunday in GC we decided to head to Sharkeez. It was very quiet in town and it was very slow at Sharkeez, but not to worry, George was there to keep us entertained (and bottles filled). To say he is a great bartender, would be the low remark. He is a fantastic bartender and is an example of what every bartender should strive to be. He showed us videos of a rogue storm that hit GC, the week prior. He kept us entertained and engaged with conversation. He is one of the most polite and pleasant bartenders I have met in our travels. He is not just a great attentative bartender, he is a master at keeping customers entertained. We will head back to Sharkeez before we depart the island. Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not send a Happy Birthday to Jamie. 😎 Be sure to put this on your places to stop, whether on a cruise or in GC on a vacation; you will not be sorry...
Read moreCame to watch pirate boat race. Was told we couldn't sit on top balcony until inside was at capacity. Party of seven turned away. Was here last year for the boat race and was allowed to use top balcony but had to get drinks from downstairs bar. I explained that but was told againt it won't be open until inside is full. What sort of manager turns paying customers away and doesn't open outside viewing areas before filling inside when people are coming purposly to watch a boat race outside. Some managers make silly rules and don't have the business sense to change for specific days. This manager did exactly that. I could understand this decision on any other time there isn't a parade or something going on in the water front. They only seem to care about cruise shippers...
Read moreFirst off: this establishment makes money when the tourists are visiting. If there isn't a cruise ship in the bay, then this place will not be open.
We were just there and shut the place down twice (different days) at 4pm local time. Why? Well we were the only ones there, and I think they had a good day prior to us showing up, and they decided to close. If you go there and they are closed, drive down the road in either direction and you'll find quite a few places open to enjoy some drinks and watch the sunset.
It's bar food, not Nobu, so you should expect food to be 3-star, you know "bar food".
If we ever go back to Cayman Islands, we'll go here because of the great views, good drinks (a little pricey),...
