TOURIST SCAM- avoid at all costs

Let's start off by saying, food is average. Not too god nor too bad. But here comes the part, it is a massive scam, and can't be called otherwise.

So, as mentioned by other customers they do have two sets of menus, one for tourists, and one for locals, a waiter admitted that to me (also because I am arab, so Ramadan excuse or different quality excuse that they used in other replies here, was never gonna work, I knew already as unfortunately happens in others arab countries too), and hey, I get it, it's not even the worst things about this,

As soon as we got it, they showed us a three course menu for a fixed price of 199, then they told us that the tajine menu had a discount and was gonna be 130 dh...I didn't like it, as I wanted to have freedom of choice, and order whatever I wanted, but eventually still went for the tajine menu, however offered me replacement on certain items (like a different kind of salad etc etc), what he NEVER mentioned was that it costs more, and got charged for that. Same for water, as you sit, water is already at the table, but be careful, no one tells you it will be charged, so many hidden costs, and dodgy things. Ended up paying 210 instead of 130, almost double, without really ordering anything "out of the fixed price menu" apart from a coffee. Sent already a claim to tourist police, الشرطة السياحية.

Many people have claimed the same, if you look at the restaurant's replies it never gets to the point, a set of apologies which serves no purpose. I didn't want to argue and ruin my stay, but their business model is built on this: they know that a tourist once scammed will more likely never come back, but they also know that the day after there will be another tourist to scam and so on.

Dreadful and shambolic.
