Sharma Ji is one of the very few dependable hopes for pure vegetarian food in Guangzhou, and it shows in the breadth of the buffet and the steady crowd it attracts. The spread runs from condiments and chaat-style snacks to a multi-dish main course, rounded off with desserts and soft drinks/juices; there’s also an a la carte menu for when a specific craving hits. All three meal slots—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are offered at a fixed-price buffet, and while the pricing sits on the higher side, the scarcity of reliable vegetarian options in the city makes it a welcome comfort once seated.
The food tastes homely and reliable, though the kitchen leans heavily toward creamy gravies; it’s satisfying on a short trip but can feel repetitive if eaten daily. Service is courteous but a little slow during peak times, so factoring in a bit of extra time helps. Hygiene and general taste are solid, and the single-location setup inside the city is convenient for nearby travelers but feels limiting for a metropolis this large.
Room to improve: introducing more rotation in the buffet (lighter, less-creamy options and more regional variety) would keep regulars engaged. Expanding to an additional branch and tightening service speed at rush hours would also elevate the experience. Overall, a strong 4-star choice for vegetarians seeking a straightforward, homestyle buffet...
Read more"SHARMA JI" restaurant is definetely very much famous among those daily business traveller to Guangzhou. I would definetly say this restaurant is a savior for all those indian who are not used to the local chinese food in Guangzhou ( im not saying the local food is bad its just we have different tongue). Its located inside Baiyun Hotel( A 5 star hotel) which is easy to acces either by Bus or Metro or even Taxi( just say baiyun hotel, once the taxi enter you will see a huge sign board). The food is definetly the best in town...you wont feel that you are in china with the ambience inside and the indian song. At the enterence it self you will be greeted with Ganesh ji. Me and my wife stayed for 8 days and for that time period SHARMA JI has been our home either B'fast or Lunch or Dinner.
Let me add. This is a vegetarian restaurant with not even an egg. They serve indian/some menu of chinese food like noodles/pasta/spagethi and pizza.
It may sound over to some of you who are reading this riview. But thats the truth, the excitement we have everytime we visit this restaurant. Try yourself and you will say it yourself.

I recently visited this restaurant, and my whole perception of the food industry changed. I always believed that customer service is the key to success in hospitality, but unfortunately, this place proved me wrong.
Both of the Dharma brothers were present, yet they showed no interest in engaging with customers. There was no smile, no greeting, no effort to answer basic questions – just a very dismissive attitude, almost as if they didn’t care at all. Normally, restaurants thrive on being warm and welcoming, but here the service felt cold and unapproachable.
I have dined at many Indian restaurants overseas, as well as Chinese cuisine spots locally, where the service was absolutely top-class. Compared to those, this was by far my worst experience. Surprisingly, the restaurant was still busy, which I believe may be due to the monopoly of Indian cuisine in the area rather than the actual quality of food or service.
Nothing about the experience stood out as special, and I left very disappointed. I would not recommend this place to anyone who values good...
