Even in the thriving western dining scene of Yangshuo Mingyuan Coffee stands out for its wonderful selection of specialty coffee, confectioneries, and an incredibly cozy environment. I was staying at a hotel next door and could not resist when I passed by this quaint establishment. It is right by the riverside in a quieter part of the town. The coffee shop is decorated in lavish western furniture. I had a litsea coffee and a pistachio basque cheesecake. I thought the litsea coffee was a wonderful fusion coffee. The litsea is a herb that the Guilin people use heavily in their beer fish, but in coffee it gives a rounded, balanced spice.
