Qilou Old Street Wenchang Ji Restaurant — Restaurant in Haikou City

regrettably our return visit on 10.1.2024, the food and service were very poor hence overall average 3

we were late after arriving from Sanya & checking in

so was here 4.30pm

this time though we very disappointed..

they gave us leftover chicken from lunch

the so called 1/2chicken rmb78 was leftover from lunch not fresh & not nice..the fish was still good though also drier less fresh

just as well we had the rmb64 roast pig which was excellent

and we would be better of getting it eating the 文昌鸡from the street food at 1/3 the price

when walking out at 5.20pm we saw new fresh whole chicken ready for dinner just not served to us..this will be a bad review!

I thought 文昌鸡inferior to our chicken rice

actually it is very good like a very good soup restaurant samsui chicken

every dish was good…

文昌鸡，烤鱼very good I think turbot or 鸦片鱼in China but they have different name here..very fresh and tender 幼

the mango clams lala 花甲also very good so was the 2 vege

total rmb395=S$74 by alipay..expensive here but very cheap by...

We stayed at the hotel zuzai music b&b right qilou old street its in the middle of everything markets, food, transpo . English is hard but people are truly amazing and trying to help. You have to install alipay and connect your card details thats the only way or either we chat app but we use alipay...

I love the place! It’s like we are brought to China through a time machine. Basically I love old architectural building and Qilou Old Street fulfills my desire. Places around are clean. People are aware that this is a tourism destination so they’re used to people taking pictures in the middle...
