We rented the place out for our wedding on a Sat afternoon. We are a mixed couples, with a lot of drunken Gweilos friends on the day. Nevertheless, the Liu’s aunties were very helpful and accommodating. The place has tons of potential, you just need to throw some elbow grease in it. We hired the aunties to help us grill and everything went well. We brought in our own catering and meats to grill. We also brought in our own bartender and booze. We needed to decorate the place ourselves, but the heavy lifting like setting up tables and chairs, beach chairs and parasols were all done by them. Obviously the party went well and we stumbled out half conscious, the aunties even help packed up everything for us to collect after the wknd. I couldn’t ask for more. We had 90+ adults and kids… and the cost was extremely affordable. Much cheaper than any other venues you can find that doesn’t come with the beautiful beach view and soft sand! Thank you very much to the Liu’s Aunties!!!
P.S. yes, it helps that I’m a local for the language and know how to keep a good relations with the Aunties. I can see there could be some lost in translation for the non local. Just get your local friends to help. They are the OG villagers there… not the Banyan Tree… so set your expectations straight first. Be respectful....
Read moreThe service was the worst of my life. It was my birthday and they have been aggressive. We paid a lot just for renting the seats. Service was racist cuz we were not locals and they have not been polite. They did not allow us to play any music. Moreover when having the bbq they come to our fireplace forcing us to shut it down because it was making smoke… ( at a bbq ) l. Just when my friends come with the birthday present they come asking us to pay the bill not leaving unless we paid. I strongly suggest not to go to this place. Really the worst time of...
Read moreThis is a lovely place. It’s part of the village, but the area next to the beach has tables and BBQs you can Remy. You bring your own food, but this has all the convenience of a private BBQ area and the freedom of the beech. The people running it are a family and super lovely people. It’s one of the rare calming treasures in Hong Kong. There are shops nearby to buy groceries stuff if you forget, and they make the BBQ for you, even...
